Good news... Hope he's back next season. He has good versatility and obviously willing to put in the work and play wherever he's needed. Might be a good season for him to learn from the sidelines with the depth we have at the position.
Jets will check back with AA at the end of the yr, and will make that determination. He won't break the bank so we should be able to resign him if his rehab is going well. Maybe a 1 yr 2 yr deal to prove it. AA has some really good skill-sets. Would hate to see him sign elsewhere if he gets healthy.
Correct me if I'm wrong but what it does is give us first crack at signing him to a new contract. I believe ( even on the IR ) other teams cannot contact him until he's a free agent.
Are you serious? He was playing out of position and playing CB for the first time in his life! I swear some Jets fans should be banned from rooting for the team.
I always wondered if he would flourish as a 4-3 weak side backer in a cover 2 scheme. Dude can tackle with the best of em and he'd struggle against blockers (you'd need some big defensive tackles in front of him) but he'd feast in that underneath zone.
He's a good role player and depth guy, hopefully his rehab goes well and we can bring him back. Never a superstar but always good to have players like him around.
I think he's more than just a depth guy. AA has made game changing plays for us that most guys just can't make. I don't think AA is a top flight starter but his not far off. He could start on half the teams in the league and do well. He's kind of a tweener.
