Wow, Green and White is Saturday and they play a preseason game a week from Thursday. Offseason takes forever but camp flies.
Practice is over. The D won the final period every which way. Offense on push-ups Overall meh day from the QBs, Fitz probably looked the best but by a small margin. Nothing awful from either Geno or Fitz tho
Bowles presser: - Mo is day to day - Blocking wasn't that good, some overthrows. Offense a bit sloppy today. - Bad decision by Geno on that first turnover, don't make a big deal about it, just practice, first turnover - Geno, Fitz, Petty all done a good job until today - Petty learning a new offense, knows how to play QB, just needs to understand the system and he'll be fine - Geno's been pretty good for the most part - Ridley just running sprints at this point, not trying to rush him back, knew it would take time when they signed him - Cro's coverage didn't change from last year, he's not playing off too much or anything - No reason Aboushi hasn't worked with the starters yet, they're just trying everybody right now - Jace is learning how to block, does some things, moving guys around, will help his pass catching lining up at H-Back - All 4 safeties working very good together
I guess having the ball stripped away isn't awful but it's not too good either--I don't think of a strip sack as a meh. My opinion.
I'm having a little trouble fathoming how he got stripped when you're not allowed to contact the QBs. Must have been carrying it really, really loosely.
This kind of reminds me of the 2013 QB battle with Smith vs. Sanchez. Mark was better, but was he better enough to start over Geno? The Jets Coaching staff felt like no. 2015 will likely be similar with Fitzpatrick being better than Geno. Better enough to start over him? Probably not. It makes no sense to me, I would always start whoever is the best, but the Jets still feel they haven't seen enough of Geno. The other 31 teams get it, I get it, most Jets fans get it, but the Jets themselves still believe in Geno.
Yes, you did. Mac said something a day or so ago that Bowles would decide the depth chart and who makes the team.
Slater is a dumb ass. The team didn't practice yesterday, so it is NOT Mo's 2nd straight day with no practice.
Even a broken clock is correct twice a day. If by nothing other than the law of averages, Idzik couldn't miss on every pick and decision he made.
I'm pretty sure 21 is Gilchrist, but if i'm not mistaken that is #41 in the video which would be Skrine.
Mike Westhoff: On Ikemefuna Enemkpali: I think he’s going to fit into a number of packages. He plays with excellent leverage. I think he’s going to be a backup guy/special team players, I think you’re going to see him in some of their packages to rush the passer. He jumped out at me with his abilities. He’s very, very quick off the ball, with an explosive, high-leverage technique. On James Carpenter: He has excellent technique. I was impressed with what I saw in him. I think they’ve got a real rock in him at their left guard spot. On the quarterbacks: Geno Smith is the guy. He’s the guy. We know the mistakes he’s made. I’m looking for small steps, and I’ve seen some progressive, small steps from him. I also know he has a better supporting cast. I don’t see a competition, I just haven’t seen it from Ryan Fitzpatrick.
We don't get very many videos from team drills, here's one from today: great throw by Geno. Long touchdown to Marshall over Cro. http://www.newyorkjets.com/videos/v...87204-5868-458c-a594-bd088296cb52?campaign=fb
Thanks. Skrine has to do better than that. Brown probably won't make the team unless it's on his STs play, in which case, that will be the only time he sees the field.
LOL I agree, but the way he wrote it makes it sound like the rest of the team practiced yesterday and Mo didn't. So far he has only missed one day of practice.
