how do I just say intentions doesn't matter??? because the NFL doesn't factor in a guys intentions when they suspend players for off the field issues. Because the State of Missouri doesn't factor in a guys intentions when they arrest him. Because if he lost control of his car at 143mph the guardrail doesn't factor in his intentions had he found it. I'm sorry but is this what we are reducing ourselves to now? its become so common for young athletes to act like jackasses that its "absurd" according to you for people & organizations to be pissed off at their actions without factoring in their intentions? who gives a flying fuck what bullshit excuse or line of shit he feeds us, obviously he's full of it
I'm sure none of that would have mattered to the parents of the 12 year old had he lost control and killed everyone in the vehicle.
So 4 games for weed, i am guessing tack 4 on here. League will say 8. Appeal will be 4. He will plea out to some kind of first offender pre trial deal that will drop all charges after 6 months. jets won't suspend him for a year. No chance the nflpa lets that happen. see ya in november speed racer
If he had gotten into an accident & somebody else in the car or another car died because of it, would you consider him a murderer then? I'm sure I'll get blasted by many for this, but I agree that in many ways this is worse than both the Rice & AP situations. We just don't have video or pictures to exacerbate the social media outrage. Sheldon's actions were life threatening, the others were not. One could also argue that the emotional and psychological impact that this situation had on the 12 year old will be much more negative and longer lasting than the AP situation.
Da You DO realize that he could have killed not only the 3 passengers in his car, but other people on the road as well, don't you? He didn't care. That's depraved indifference. Obviously, he's narcissistic and only thinks and cares about himself and what he wants to do. That goes further than just being an immature kid. An immature kid, is late all the time, stays out partying, spends too much time playing video games, cuts up during team meetings, plays pranks on others and similar activities. Some people do mature later than others, but even at 24 he has responsibilities. Driving is a privilege, NOT a right. When you get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle you can hurt and kill a lot of people. Does he have no ability to see what has happened to other people when they drink and drive, do drugs and drive, race? Does he have no responsibility to the team that's paying him a ton of money to play a game he loves? Does he have no responsibility or accountability to his teammates? How about to the mother of the 12 year old in the car? How many athletes have gotten into trouble before with guns? Wasn't he JUST SUSPENDED for pot? Shouldn't he be on his BEST BEHAVIOR? Didn't the NFL just institute a tougher personal conduct policy this off season that he himself knew about because he complained about it? Your permissive accepting approach is total BS and typical of today's permissive parents who let their kids run wild, then wonder why their kids have all kinds of problems and often wind up in trouble with the law. It shows what a lousy leader and HC Rex Ryan was. Perhaps if he had instilled some discipline and accountability in the Jets, Richardson would never have behaved in the ways he has. There are consequences for our actions and cause and effect in the world. Richardson is not being "picked on" because he's a rich young black man. HE created this situation. He needs to be disciplined in a severe and harsh manner to get his attention, and hopefully help him to wake up. That's the thing that many people like you don't see. You think that being totally permissive and accepting is being loving. It isn't. You do people no favors when you act in that manner. To be a truly loving and caring parent or leader, you discipline and teach responsibility and accountability. You don't just shake your head, smile, and say they'll eventually grow up. That's just stupid.
This is the most idiotic post I have ever read on these boards and I will dissect it as to why. No wonder we haven't won in over 40 years - Sheldon being an ass has nothing to do with this. I knew before the season started that the focus would be on negativity. -- How is this focusing on negativity? Dude just did some major stupid shit. Football is becoming predictable and no longer feels exciting. -- So you knew Sheldon was going to drive 140 with a loaded handgun and 12 year old. Media focuses too much on things that have nothing to do with any of us, and what's worse are the stupid, insecure, little dick football fans who are morally bankrupt themselves that think they know better. -- I don't think I know better, I KNOW I know better. I didn't have millions but I was making 6 figures by the time I was 22 and didn't do anything near that stupid. As long as we know little about the game we can never put the kind of pressure on an organization to focus on a winning tradition. -- What does that have to do with anything? What a dude does on his time is his business. Not yours -- NO, when a person in society blatantly breaks rules and puts citizens at risk (driving 140mph ) it is EVERYONES business.
And you think it crossed his mind that he could have committed suicide there and killed other people? Of course not. That's my point, he doesn't realize what he does until it's too late. That's different from being a bad person who is trying to cause trouble. This is the immature part on him. He thinks everything will be fine, everything is going to get worked out, nothing is going to happen, everybody will be fine. Until of course something bad happens. Hopefully he learns from this and grows up now. If he crashes into somebody the next time it'll be too late.
WHAT? You're clueless. What players do on their own time affects their eligibility to be on the field and help the team. Discipline and accountability prevents actions like Richardson's. Permissiveness and zero accountability like Rex Ryan create situations like this or at least the environment in which they can and do happen. The great teams have discipline and focus. That's why they win. They don't have their star players out doing shit like this. You're the one who sounds like he knows little or nothing about the game and little or nothing about human behavior.
It doesn't matter. He's a menace to society. Throw him in jail. Maybe that will give him some time, after he's done thinking about his money, to think about his decision making.
"Less than two weeks after the league announced a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, Jets defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson was charged with resisting arrest as well as endangering the welfare of a child in O'Fallon, Missouri." That will get some time off under the NFL's personal conduct policy.
Can't really defend Richardson at this point. We can talk about marijuana all we want, but the guy was street racing with a 12 yr old in the backseat of a car with a loaded gun under his seat. Imagine if he crashed and killed the kid in the backseat? He has no regard for human life other than his own. He needs help, now.
He'll only have to worry about the speeding part & resisting arrest, plus I think he ran a red light. That's pretty much it.
Interesting. But wouldn't that have been stated already if it was going to be more than just speeding? I would assume child endangerment would have been one as well for going that fast with a 12 year old in the car. I'm expecting a massive fine to be paid and most likely loss of license for Sheldon In regards to the speeding
