Sheldon Richardson is now a dark horse candidate for New York's dumbest athlete; pulling up alongside second place holder Jenrry Mejía, and gaining ground on current leader Jason Pierre Paul.
It is remarkable that he did not let the Jets know. In the real world not reporting something like that to your employer could warrant big problems even if you are later exonerated.
How many guys did you grow up with who were wild and crazy and did very stupid things on a regular basis? I kind of feel like that describes 80 percent of my friends from 15 to 19 and none of them were living in a fantasy world that allowed them to extend their immaturity into their mid 20's the way pro athletes are. I'm not surprised he did this at all. I'm saddened because he puts the team I root for in a tough bind that they didn't need but I'm not surprised.
What a stupid MF. Guess we'll have to wait till next year to see Mo, Shel & Williams in the same lineup. Or never.
yeah, tell that to second best 3-4 d-lineman in the game. I know what you mean, but it ultimately doesn't matter how much d-linemen are overpaid next to their relative value in years past (adjusted for salary cap inflation of course) what matters is that more than a few lineman are paid a certain way, and anybody with Muhammad's talent would be stupid not to sign based on that precedent. the jets need to play the game rather than shirk it like JI tried to. SR's dumbass may have just opened some cap space in 2017 onward, the jets would be wise to structure a deal based on todays market while they still can.
Idk how some of you guys have dealt with being a jets fan for 30+ years I'm only 20 and can't stand the pain. Why can't I be happy once
Or he was just trying to save his ass because he knew they smoked weed and he had his gun in the car?? Like i said.. this sounds hard headed.. and reaching for the gun?... please.. to HIDE the shit not to shoot the cop...
Another example of why character (and durability) are so important these days. Need great players, yes. But they have to stay on the field. So silly.
Agree. It is the team, not Sheldon's career, that I am disappointed for. Sheldon is a dumbass. I have kind of been saying that for awhile.
How could you possibly know this? You don't. The guy just made a series of insane and completely irrational decisions. You think the next one was partially sane?
No way the kid gets big $ once his rookie deal is over, this just made it possible for us to keep all the "Sons" together after all. Dumbass
The man is 24 years old, in a spotlight, and would've have soon been worth millions. If I was in his position, I wouldn't drive a single mph over any speed limit.
If Mo was looking to get paid what Calais Campbell makes we wouldn't have a problem at the moment. If he's basing his compensation on J.J. Watt there's just a huge problem. Do you really see the 3-4 DE's like this: 1. J.J. Watt 2. Mo Wilkerson 3. Calais Campbell 4. Cameron Jordan 5. Jurrell Casey etc? Because I see them like this: 1. J.J. Watt 2. Mo Wilkerson 3. Calais Campbell etc? The difference between Watt and the rest is bigger than the combined differences of #2 through 5 or so.
We pretty much are forced to ride out sheldens rookie deal. If he can play that is good...But I am so over these pathetic types who think they are hot shit and above everyone else
Considering his feelings on Ferguson, reaching for his gun to 'protect himself' was prolly a great idea in his mind. Looking at his behavior and statements I wouldn't doubt that for a second
I don't think he's a trade chip at this point. Nobody was willing to deal with the Browns for Josh Gordon when they put him on the market because everybody thought he was going to fall down again. I think by the time Sheldon Richardson has trade value again his first deal with the Jets will be nearly over.
