I actually thought it was pretty funny myself. Guy who wrote the piece is obviously on some meds though.
It's funny how the mind blocks out some of the embarrassments. I had forgotten about the guy laying in the end zone play. Sneaky, and copied from a college game the week before.
Watch the blockers closely ahead of Harvin. THEY DONT HIT ANYONE! not even a finger on the buffalo coverage guys
I got to admit this is funny as hell: "This is the pattern in New York. The Jets bring in a brash guy like Rex Ryan and fans and the media are like, “Hey, he’s a loudmouth asshole like us! A REAL NEW YORKER!” And then the act wears thin and, as a counterbalance, the Jets bring in a quiet, lame coach, and a few years later everyone is like, “THIS GUY IS A PUSSY! WE NEED ANOTHER LOUDMOUTH ASSHOLE THAT WE CAN RELATE TO IN THERE!” And on and on it goes. If you’re lucky, you get a coach like Herm Edwards who BECOMES a loudmouth asshole just so he can fit in with you morons."
This is classic: After the Jets’ two consecutive AFC Championships, when Sanchez was showing that he clearly sucked despite the playoff runs and could never be a successful QB, I was a merciless defender of his. I constantly pointed out his good play in the playoffs during 2009 and 2010 as a rookie and sophomore and kept pointing to his stats at that point in his career being similar to those of guys like Eli, who has won 2 superbowls, etc etc. One night, I got into one particularly heated argument with a friend of mine, who was a huge Giants fan, who loved to taunt me about my stance on Sanchez, constantly berating him as a terrible quarterback, and mocking me for supporting him despite all the evidence of his terribleness. I told him to shut up and watch the game about to start, confident that Sanchez wouldn’t let me down and would step up in the big game we were about to watch. What game was that, you might ask? November 22, 2012. Patriots vs. Jets. Thanksgiving night. Yes, BUTT FUMBLE night. Sounds like this could have been any of hte Sanchez Fans around here. But not to feel too good about myself, isn't eggplant parm health food?
This one is really funny too: "Three years ago, Mark fucking Sanchez threw the ball to Tim fucking Tebow on a flat route and hit him in the back of his helmet. Today, our quarterback situation is somehow even worse."
Pretty funny for the most part, but I got a little pissed at the end when he talked shit about the fans. Most people who still like this team are the definition of good fans as I think there are currently 0 bandwagoners rooting for this team. Anybody can sit there and follow a team like the Packers or Patriots every year be successful. He did give us our deserved credit for a good draft though.
Manish Mehta @MMehtaNYDN Geno Smith thinks worst QB ranking in ESPN poll is "hilarious."... "I laughed at it." I laughed at Geno, laughing at that poll....because it's true Geno....
It was funny until you read the quotes from supposed Jets fans at the bottom. What a pathetic lot. No wonder people like Brian make comments like that about how bad Jets fans are.
Haha sounds like me for sure. Though, that Thanksgiving was just a bad night for everyone. Yeah, that line was the best. Cracked me up but also made me sad because it is true. Can't wait for him to be out of the starting line up. Hopefully this season. However, Jets fan luck, he will play just good enough and get the team to (8-8) allowing him to keep his job for 2016.
Yes, that Turkey Day game was awful for all Jet fans. I was so looking forward to it, and the Jets go out and, especially Sanchez, lay a huge egg. As for Smith in the coming season, since I dont think it possible he would actually play well, what is to be feared is if he improves enough to get the CS thinking he should get a fourth year. And if they do that, then watch them not try to get another Qb in the next off season. And the pain will continue...
Bingo! That is what I am saying. Definitely Jets luck. Haha. Tough for us fans, because obviously I would never cheer for my team or any player to play bad, so you have to wish him well.
I disagree. Geno would have to play lights out for them to not address QB next season. I have no reason to believe that Maccagnan would change his draft strategy and not pick a QB if were the BPA in early rounds.
I hope you are right. In hindsight Idzik let the search for a Qb slide between 13 and 14 because not only was he not prepared to toss Smith aside, he didn't want to add another Qb, which ended up being a huge mistake. Someone like Carr or Bridgewater would have been a much better pick than Pryor.
