Who was that one player in Jets history who you feel really didn't get as much credit as he deserved for being a huge contributor while playing for the team? I'm looking for the guy who gave the most and got the least amount of credit for it.

Personally, I always thought Thomas Jones was very under-appreciated during his tenure with the Jets. Here is a guy who ran for almost 3,900 yards during three years with the team, and fans acted as if he was at best, and average back.

If he wasn't a Jet he would have gotten consideration for the HOF, he was very good....we had a great line back then, Marvin Powell, Randy Rasmussen, Joe Fields, Dan Alexander and Chris Ward

Richie Anderson, not the most underrated in jets history but you guys already stole the good ones.

Also I think Marvin Jones gets underrated because he crashed so hard at the end of his career and was drafted so highly but he had a nice long career here and anchored some great defenses

yeah, you might be right. maybe nostalgia is setting in there. We were looking at those Wayne Chrebet pics and it got me thinking about that 1998 team.

Freeman McNeil, Bruce Harper, Joe Klecko, Joe Fields and Al Toon....
the 80's teams i grew up with had some really good players, who seem to get either forgotten or dissed as time goes on.

Klecko in particular, should absolutely be in the HOF.
Toon was possibly the most talented receiver we've ever had.
