Yeah.. I guess the Focus groups figured an even number would be better received although that didn't work with the original Win8. I'm hoping we don't have to wait for a service pack for Win10 to work as advertised.

    Fucking Dumbasses.

    They could have used 9.

And bought The intro to the Beatles Revolution Number 9.

Windows 9, this sort of thing IS your bag..baby.

Seriously though, I can't get the stupid Windows 10 update to go away. I like my computer how it is. I hate change. I don't want anything to get fucked up. It just sits there though still in the bottom right corner of my laptop.

Nothing like installing the NSA's hand-picked operating system to get the heart fluttering.

Well Br4d, if it isn't the NSA, it's the Chinese or the NoKors or some kid in his mom's basement that can't get laid. Nobody can go off grid now that owns a computer and goes on the net. I won't live in fear.

Yeah, I get that and I'm of similar mind and bent at this point. It's just a sad thing to see the contradictions in play and wonder where they're going to lead in the end.

We have a tendency to see a world order that has never actually existed and then extrapolate our losses from there. That's mainly because we had Hollywood to skew our vision of America and the world after WWII.

I was about 15 before I realized that the Cowboys in our westerns were the advance forces of genocide at work and the blood thirsty Indians were just doing what any of us would have done if we were being forced off our land by an occupying power. Movies ran 50-1 in the other direction at that point.

Today we see the Russians, Chinese and North Koreans as the great evil cyber warriors of the age, and they are definitely out to get us but the Cowboys have already got us encircled and they're going to get us first.

I'm starting to question why ms is letting this upgrade be free even to people who pirate the os? There must be a catch somewhere.

Is this going to be a tiered OS? Kinda like Win8, 8.1, 8.1pro, 64bit, etc...

If you wanted your OS on every machine in the world you'd make it free too.

    Making the leap.

Also, the NSA isn't any more tied up in Microsoft than it is in many of the other large companies. Linux also isn't entirely mother's basement work. There's a lot of commercialization there as well, if not end user oriented.

Meh, Linux is probably the safest. If some exploit was discovered in their kernel I'm sure they'll be a big uproar. Anyone can take a look at what's inside, can't say the same for ms.

I'm in the I.T. industry and have played with Win 10 it is definitely worth the upgrade. They will will never admit it but they are offering 10 free because 8 was way too much of a change for most and caused a lot of headaches.

You have to be kidding here. Microsoft was probably the #2 target on the NSA's list of companies that had to be coerced into full cooperation in the post 9/11 digital age. My guess is AT&T was #1.
