This is an very interesting thought. It's certainly possible and in that situation might make sense for both sides. If 49ers tank this year: Jets sent Mo to 49ers who need to re-up on dline, and get a young cornerstone who they can negotiate an extension with on their terms. Jets get a QB to try and build around who is still young Niners can draft a QB with their high draft pick. It's quite feasible actually. This also assumes of course that Geno faceplants and Bryce Petty won't be ready.
The idea makes me nervous. Kaepernick is extremely talented, but the results so far have been inconsistent... I'd honestly prefer a deal for Philip Rivers, despite his older age.
If we had kap this year there is no doubt in my mind we make the playoffs. I do think think he fits the identity this team is forming. His contract, though it seems big, is pretty team friendly. This "story" is about if the Niners go 5-11 with Kap as their Qb this coming year, what they might do. It says nothing about them being interested in trading Kap now. So speculative as to be a virtual non-story.
It's interesting because he has one of the stronger arms in the league and is fast as fuck. The guy can't go through his progressions to save his life.

Mo to the niners makes a ton of sense but Mo should be insulted it requires a top 15 and another pick? These guys seriosuly thing Kap (kaptain inconsistent) is worth that much more then him?
