And here are the rules: 1) You must chose the most iconic players in franchise history 2) You MUST select four AND ONLY FOUR players 3) The individuals you chose must have played for the New York Jets or New York Titans as some time. No Coaches, GM's, or Owners. Go for it...
Namath, Martin, Chrebet, Revis. I did struggle a bit with Revis since he is still playing, but ultimately he is (in my mind at least) one of the most notable faces associated with the Green oval and arguably the best db in Jets history. Im weak for running backs so if i had to choose a runner up it might be Boozer. Also Maynards accomplishments can not be denied. this was tough.
Imo Namath, Martin and Klecko should be in everyone's top four. As between Maynard and Revis, the problem is Revis is only maybe halfway through his career (all the others are retired, and we can look at their whole body of work). It's likely if Revis keeps up his level of performance, he will bump Maynard at some point. But right now I guess Maynard is the fourth.
TGG Mount Rushmore 1. Wilkerson, Richardson, Harrison, Williams 2. Matt Simms, Brett Ratliff, Greg McElroy, Bryce Petty Mine Namath, Martin, Klecko, Revis
This is as spot on. Maybe you try to put a member of the sack exchange but i don't see who you could cut.
Mo Lewis would also be featured on the Patriots rushmore. It's hard to believe the misery that has come from a single block.
I have nothing but love for Mo but my thinking was to try to pick representatives from various generations of Jets. With my own reasoning you drop Maynard for a member of the sack exchange and Mo's era is represented by Martin.
