Seems like there is no urgency for addressing appeal. How many days has it been since NFL started investigation? How many days have passed since wells report? How many days since br*dy filed appeal? Looks like the cheater will be starting week 1.
I'm going with no but I don't like all the delays and whatnot. Would have been better to get it settled while all the talk was hot but they have (intentionally) let the fires die down so it won't be as big of a deal to people if the suspension is lessened or removed entirely.
From Goodell's letter to the NFLPA on June 2nd: "..the appeal proceeding, which under Article 46 of the CBA is designed to afford Mr. Brady an opportunity to bring new or additional facts or circumstances to my attention for consideration." The NFLPA/Br*dy are not bringing new nor additional facts for consideration. They are fighting this on procedural terms. This will go to the courts and unless the NFLPA can get a judge to issue a stay then Br*dy will miss the opener. PS. Fuck Tom.
I voted no (because I hope that it's "NO.") But wouldn't it be a disgrace if that putz is playing opening day.
Why would it be a disgrace? He went through the appeal process that was established by the NFLPA. It's now up to Goodell and the NFL.
Well he went through a 4 month NFL investigation and they said he was involved in cheating and they gave him 4 games. So if like in Bountygate he gets out on a legal technicality (same lawyer) it's a crock.
All the investigation said was that he was "more than likely involved" That doesn't mean anything. Brady should file a lawsuit, the phone records would be subpoenaed, and then the truth would be known.
What do you mean. It was legalize for HE DID IT! It's not a court of law where they would say beyond a reasonable doubt. They gave him every chance to defend himself. But he's meeting with Roger in a week or two. I'm sure his lawyer will accept nothing but no suspension.
You all realize that Week one for the Pats is the Thursday night opener? I doubt that the league will want Buck Frady sitting out the season opener, so that the cheating allegations and the tainted playoffs are center stage. If he plays, the speculation in the media will revolve around Brady, rather than the league, then I would suspect his suspension gets reduced to 2 games, and he returns after their week 4 bye. (and just for chuckles, consider this...Opening night for the NFL in 2015, will have the formerly suspended rapist going up against the to be suspended playoff cheat...)
he will get a judge to order an injunction allowing him to play until the case is heard, brady will play week 1 and than drop the appeal and serve his suspension, stating" its better for the team if i drop the appeal so the team can focus on the season at hand"
I suggest you look up the legal meaning of what "more probable than not" means in a court of law and more importantly in a civil case which is what this would be. He won't file a lawsuit, who files a law suit when they'd have to supply evidence that would implicate themselves?
