You're entitled to your opinion, but check your facts.

Have you heard of Jim Plunkett? He won Super Bowls XV and XVIII. And he's not in the Hall of Fame.

In the modern era it will be even harder for Qbs to get into the Hall of Fame whether or not they have Super Bowl wins. You need to be a top Qb in your era, and Eli has never been that. I think Rothlisberger has a better shot since he was a top 5 Qb during his peak.

You completely forgot to put all the **** next to Tom Brady's super bowl wins. For shame!

You don't need a franchise QB to compete but please show me the SBs won by non franchise QBs?

    Ben is a HOFer
Wilson, Flacco and Eli are franchise QBs

I can even argue Johnson as a franchise QB. this guy helped 3 teams reach playoffs and Dilfer helped 2 and nearly a third.

I think this whole HOFer discussion when it comes to SB winners is retarded.

When a QB wins a Superbowl his value goes way up and he is thought of differently. To have this conversation looking backward makes absolutely no sense to me.

For example. Has Eli Mannings play on a whole been HOF quality? Absolutely not. One could argue Romo's career numbers are better. All you have to do is look at the #'s. But then, the comment of he's a 2 time SB winner is made and the debate can't be had.

Ben is a fantastic QB. Really special player. Is he a HOFer? I'd say yes, but a debate can be made otherwise.

When you win a SB you are de facto a franchise QB in 99% of cases. Flacco was on the ropes on Baltimore in many ways before he won a SB then boom he's a franchise QB and gets a mega extension.

Same will go for Dalton if he ever wins one. Is he a franchise QB? Debatable. Give him a ring and we won't even question it. Same for Tannehill and everyone in their standing.

Eli has had many many more games in his career where he has looked average/bad than he's had where he looked elite.

But he will most likely get into the Hall either way. Doing it in New York helps and so does his last name.

Very true. Romo is the one guy I would love to see get a ring and somehow end up in the Hall. That would be hilarious actually considering the bashing he has taken over the last 10 years despite being an above average QB.

they lost me at "excluding the QB position...." if you have to exclude the QB position than you don't have a good roster. Thats not to say you shouldn't try to make the rest of the roster better but this metric is silly because you are only as good as the QB you have

I don't think there is any debate, for me he is a lock.

Flacco had made the postseason every year and made 2 title games. He was struggling that reg season until late but played like a HOF in that playoff run.

Dalton has never even won a playoff game, never even played remotely well. When he does that can change.

Tannehill has flopped in all the big games in the reg season he has played in. He is not in this discussion, he has had playoff caliber teams and cannot get there.

Eli is not a HOFer at the moment, if he has strong finish to career he can make it.

None of those guys were as bad as Geno or as bad in bigger games in the reg season as Tannehill.

right I get it...im saying if Tannehill wins a SB the way people talk about him in retrospect will be different, regardless of his performance.

today's nfl requires a better than mediocre QB. roethlisberger, flacco and eli may not be elite but they're better than mediocre.

at the same time you can't just have a good qb, you need a talented, well balanced team to go the distance. so what the jets have done this offseason is an important part of the equation as well.

Of course that will change, Ryan has a chance to change his career as does Geno.

I know...but how you are responding, isn't the original point.
