Ignore the usual hot air BS focus instead on 'ruining practice' and 'five, six sacks allowed'. LOL I can't wait until the avalanche of turnovers hits over there. Get used to it Buffalo fans! http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/05/20/rex-ryan-talks-up-jerry-hughes/ Rex Ryan talks up Jerry Hughes Posted by Michael David Smith on May 20, 2015, 6:00 AM EDT Jerry Hughes looked so good at the Bills’ Organized Team Activities that coach Rex Ryan took him off the field. Ryan says Hughes is so quick coming out of his stance that the Bills’ offensive tackles couldn’t touch him, and as a result they had to pull Hughes just to let the offense get some work in. “It’s rare that you have to pull a guy from practice because he’s ruining your practice, but I had to pull him,” Ryan said. “If we were keeping track he might have had five, six sacks. It’s one of those deals, it’s like, ‘OK, let’s pull him out. Let’s get a pass off or something like that.’ He really did have that kind of day.” Hughes has come a long way since his days in Indianapolis, when he was a major disappointment as a first-round draft pick. Since arriving in Buffalo in 2013, Hughes has developed into one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, with back-to-back 10-sack seasons. And now he’s making a good first impression on Ryan.
Hmm, so instead of realizing that Hughes in his own right is good at what he does, you instead attribute that to our offense being that bad? And that's even aside the fact this was in OTAs where players were in t-shirts and shorts and not pads. Can you at least wait until the actual training camp begins?
Take it from someone who has seen/heard what Rex has to say, take it from someone who has seen the products he puts on the football field. If your O looks like dog poo in practice they'll look like dog poo once the real games start. Yeah it's early and it's NOT a good early sign for Bills fans. My advice to you is this get used to it.
Not at QB. And he wins what exactly? Where's our AFC East title from his time here? Where's our Lombardi trophy? We might've had one in 2010 if the team hadn't shown up flat for the AFC Championship game. Showed up flat for a title game still can't get over that. He's all talk. Kiss Belichick's rings, Rex!
You may want to go back and look at where our teams rank in total offense last year. IIRC the Bills were 26th in the league in total offense whereas the Jets were ranked 22nd. Despite the hate for Rex here, I'd MUCH rather have him than that total moron Marrone. You guys better count your blessings Woody backed off from hiring him.
would you rather have won the AFC East in 2010 or played for the right to go to the SB? would you rather have won the AFC East in 20090 or played for the right to go to the SB? we didn't win a SB but we got closer than we have since getting to SB III.
What was your W-L record? How many times did the Jets turn over the football? How many times did we turn over the football duruing Rex's time here 2009-2014? Have to be at or near rock bottom. I know Buffalo is gonna have a good D they were good last year, it's Rex specialty. Duh! And you have some weapons too Watkins, McCoy I'll give you that. You got nothing at QB. If you think Rex is gonna go there and install a big play O without a QB, installa O where the QB manages the games, takes care of the football HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Seeing is believeing!! I didn't see it here!!!
you didn't see two years of being w/in a game of the Super Bowl? Remember, Buffalo hasn't even made the playoffs since 1999 so just getting in is a huge win. I think we are at that point too having missed 4 straight years for the first time since the mid 90s.
Our record was 9-7, technically 8-8 since I won't be naive enough to count the game at Foxboro as a win. What sinks your argument is that what happened with Rex's Jets in '14 won't necessarily translate to what will happen with the Bills. Rex can't take care of the ball FOR a QB, that's totally on the QB himself. Am I to assume Geno gets a pass for last year's dismal performances because of Rex? If that's the case, what does Geno have to do exactly? A lot of Geno's shortcomings are on Geno. And in fairness to our offense from your first post, our defense can pretty much make a lot of offenses look bad. Both Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning can attest to that. The one thing Rex has in this defense this year that he didn't have last year is a far better secondary, and also a GM that won't be a pain in the ass
Knowing what I know now I'd take the AFC East Titles. We'd have one or two more AFC East Champions banners hanging in the rafters. Losing in the AFC Championship is just more heartbreak. It's about winning division titles, getting as many home playoff games as possible and getting to the Super Bowl not losing in the AFC Championship game. Yeah some teams have done it the hard way getting there as a Wild Card that way hasn't worked for the Jets. The two home playoff games I've witnessed Jacksonville, Indianapolis Glorious. After all the promises Rex made I can't remember the Jets hosting a single home playoff game during his time here.
ask Bill Belichick which he would rather have had those 2 years. you cannot get to a SB w/o playing in a conf title game first.
So the basis of what you consider fact is assumption? You blast Rex for not holding players accountable, but a lot of Jet fans are doing the same exact thing.
They've ruled the AFC East with a iron fist since 2001 I have a feeling winning the division is near the top of their to-do list each & every year. I want AFC East titles. I've seen my team lose enough AFC Championship games I want a Super Bowl appearance.
I guess you didn't see the product in 09-10 if your gonna tell the story tell the whole thing not just the end.Rex did great things for this franchise
