I thought his boot leg was in the '74 regular season game

But that was a great play worth mentioning

Was a great game Keyshawn running his mouth prior, Wayne catching the winning TD!

That was a memorable play, no doubt about it, but I always thought the TD to send the game into OT in the first place was better. The pressure to get a score on the last play of the game, the way O'Brien hung in there waiting for Walker to get open and then the absolute fastball he pitched in there, and finally the great leaping catch by Walker. I'll never forget the commentary 'There are two, four, five Dolphins around Wesley Walker, but Wesley Walker has the ball, and he's in the end zone!'

im young lol... but my most memorable will always be Shonn Greene putting the patriots to sleep using the ball as the pillow to go to the AFC Chip! Rex running on the field like fuck the penalty.. Braylon Doing back flips.. Just an amazing feeling.

That one definitely makes a good case but there wasn't one single play in that game for me that trumped all the others, it was just a great game followed by a lot of fanfare that made it more fun. For me (and I'm not sure if you were old enough to enjoy this play) The Jumbo Elliott play in the MNM game was amazing, everyone thought it would either be Curtis up the middle or a fade pass to the corner and instead Vinny play action passed the ball to a backup olineman to force overtime in a game they were all but dead in by halftime, and by that point I think it was after midnight

I don't think I have ever been as amped for one play as that one and that includes that great run by Greene which may have been the dagger but we already had the lead

He may have had a bootleg TD in 74 but he also had one in Aug 1969 vs the NYGs in the Yale Bowl. Actually besides the Oak PO game it was the next best game I ever saw live & in person. All those NYGs sitting in stun silence as JWN picked them apart & me with my green & white screaming for more blood it was terrific. You do that the NYGs fired there head coach after that game? But alas that was the end of fun part of NYJ football as they have become losers for the next 46 years & counting:mad:

I believe that is correct. I still think the sanchez fumble at the end of the first half was an iffy call.
That gets called an incomplete pass, that's hypothetically a 7 point swing in a game we lost by 5.

That TD run by Greene was actually a stupid play. The Jets were up by 7 with 1:40 leftand were inside the Pats 20. The Pats had one TO left. It was second and 4. When Greene got the first down, he should have gone down, not scored. Then the Jets run the clock out and win. Instead, the Pats got the ball back with 1:40, scored a TD to make it 28-21, and the Jets needed to recover the onsides kick to secure the game. And for those who say that it didn't matter and the Jets won any way and it was worth it to see Greene putting the Pats to "sleep" I say ask GB about recovering onsides kicks to secure wins. That win was the most memorable of the past 10-12 years and definitely in the top 5 of all time, but the handling of the clck at the end of the game indicates how Ryan and staff were not smart and ,as a result, neither were the players.

There was a healthy debate about that right here on TGG.

I was on the side that said Greene should have taken a knee at the one, run off the clock and maybe kick a FG to go up 10.

If he took a knee, the game was over. No need to give the ball back or kick a FG. 1:40 left and one TO means the Jets kill the clock.

I agree with everything you have said and your scenario would have been the most safe and efficient way for the Jets to tuck that win under their belt.

However, Greene did score and then show boated in the end zone, making Jim Nantz the overt Pats fan complain like a young girl, then the Pats scored and gave Pats fans hope and almost surety that they would come back to win, and then they didn't recover the onside kick and it ripped the hearts out of every Pats fan watching that game.

Say what you want about the smart calls that would have safely won that game, I will take the one that infuriates a legion of Cheatriots fans every single day because they don't deserve anything good. Screw them and screw the safe win, I take the win that made them unable to sleep for a week

    Probably right.

I'd make a lousy head coach.
