weak ass punishment, should have been a minimum of 16 games for that tainted greatest cheating QB of all time, Tom Brady.
I think NEP will try to sign a vet Qb to either start or to back up Jimmy G. I'm sure they'd love to get an ex Patriot Qb but most of them are currently employed.
Actually IMO, if Brady complied and showed txts, they would show his guilt beyond any doubt -- no "more probable". So it was smart of him to withhold the txts. It was stupid to open his yapper however.
I can't wait for the Bristol-based writing/reporting to turn around and lead the charge with the FOUR GAMES FOR PLAYING WITH A SLIGHTLY LOW AIR PRESSURE, BUT ONLY TWO FOR KNOCKING YOUR GIRLFRIEND OUT COLD?!?! articles and hot takes.
DUDE. Why isn't Belichick suspended!??!?!?!??! Sean Peyton was suspended for an ENTIRE YEAR because ignorance was not an excuse. Falcons President was suspended for not knowing about pumping crowd noise. Browns GM was suspended for texting. So it's ok that cheating just went on under Bill Belichick's nose? Especially a guy convicted a cheating prior to this? Wtf.
I think the NFL got it right. Brady will appeal and probably get it down to 2. I love that they lost their first round pick.
First round pick? Patsy's don't use them anyways. They've effectively been docked 32 picks resulting from the inevitable trade down.
Those saying that this is too lenient are wrong. This is honestly a little bit more than I was expecting but I think if an appeal cuts it down it would be unfair. It's about right where it should be.
Wow, I'm surprised that Troy Vincent came down this hard on Brady. I figure he should have not tried to cover it up. Even when he gets this reduced his reputation will be forever tarnished outside of Pats nation.
Just because you feel that way doesn't mean anything. It was too lenient by far. This was done during the game that decides the AFC contender in the Super Bowl. The gravity of the game plus his lying about of it should be factored in.
Its not too lenient but what stops the Pats from doing this again? When Sean Payton got a year it was clear that those shenanigans wouldnt happen again.
Troy Vincent didn't suspend Brady, only Goodell has the power to suspend players per the CBA. Vincent was in charge of punishing the team.
