Like I said yesterday, if he misses Goodell's showcase league year kickoff and everybody around the world watching hears why Brady isn't there it will all be worth it. Anything more is gravy.

Don't be so sure, remember this wasn't a single incident. They have evidence it went on all year and if they went back farther I am sure they would find it went on for many years.

I'm expecting 8 games minimum plus heavy fines and draft pick loss for the team.

2nd cheating offense, conduct detrimental to league and blatantly lying. If the league doesn't come down hard on this they look worse than they already do. Might even save some face for Goodell who surely needs it.

Yup. These guys make no money, and now they have no jobs. Some network will pay them, and they will sing like canaries. The media is already camped out outside of McNally's house. If Goodell gives the Pats a slap on the wrist, and then the whole story comes out, i.e Belichick knew about it, or Brady ordered the deflating, the league will look stupid.

Brady's getting 6 games. Belichick will get some games too. A first round pick and a million bucks. Mark my words.

"I predict Brady gets a full year suspension which is reduced to 4 games upon much whining and a pouty face by Brady"

Folks expect a fair judgement, but this is the Pats you are dealing with. The "showcase " team of the NFL and without a doubt the commissioner's favorite team. Despite the fact that they are twice the caught cheaters , don't expect any major punishment for any part of this organization. I totally expect the two flunkies from the locker room, to take the full brunt of the punishment with the rest of the Pats laughing their asses off playing the rest of the year

i don't see how this is unreasonable at this point. being that they constantly need to cheat in order to win. all their rings are mired in scandal. what a shit franchise.

Does anyone know how to make #BradyWouldAlreadyBeSuspendedAYearIfHeWasBlack trend on twitter? Not that I believe that, but liberal bullying tends to be very effective these days.

I think Brady will be publicly executed, just to send a message for breaking the integrity of a game that basically had none to begin with.

That's the problem. If you punish the low paid flunkies by firing them, you'll have to give Brady a very stiff suspension to balance it out. Otherwise the press will have a field day over how these poor guys got fired and Brady, the millionaire, missed a single game. The flunkies have no choice but to do what Brady wants them to do.

The flunkies and Brady get 2 games. Huge fine. Draft pick.

What were the Jets fined for the Sal Alosi tripping incident?

I believe it was 100k and Alosi lost his job. Not sure if the firing was forced or just the jets doing what they saw fit.

Honestly as much as I want to stick it to the Pats, this is more or less the equivalent of jailing Al Capone on tax evasion. At most this probably deserves six games (which would be just fine with me since the sixth game they're playing us)...two games for the act and four games for obstructing the investigation. I can't believe more is even being rumored, any super-lengthy suspension is not going to stick on appeal. The league already got its AP and Rice suspensions reduced/ended.

My actual prediction is four games...but at this point I could see anything happening from total exoneration to the 2015 death penalty.

The flunkies are getting fired regardless after their high school type behind-the-back carping of Brady got made public. Nothing the NFL can do about that, really.

Notice how there are zero New England trolls around since the Wells report came out?

No atmospheric pressure crap now? Ha!

There is absolutely no way he gets off clean, the language in the finding guarantees that. As far as long suspensions sticking, all you have to do is look at Rice, Peterson and Gordon to know it will.

Any suspension at all is going to get a lengthy court/appeal fight, Brady's agent and his dad threw down the gauntlet for that. Plus while there's plenty of evidence Brady ordered them to deflate the balls for years, how much evidence is there he wanted them to deflate the balls to illegal levels?

And fwiw the league never suspended AP, he was put on the 'exempt' list where he got paid, just to get him out of the Vikings facility without them having to partake in the decision. Rice's suspension was indefinite and got ended in court. Gordon failed so many drug tests it's a wonder he's not in jail.

You cant think of it that way. Brady premeditated the tampering of game balls after being inspected by NFL game officials, with the assistance of equipment managers. He was compensating those managers. Whether he wanted them below legal levels or not is immaterial. The tampering is enough. Also, this isnt a court of law. If it was, Brady and Belichick would be subpeoned and their electronic communications confiscated. But the investigators could only make conclusions with the limited information the Pats gave them. The NFL needed Pats cooperation in order to guarantee the ruling and punishment was fair, and they didnt get that cooperation from the Pats. The Pats are a crooked organization.

For that the Pats and Brady should be given an exceedingly stiff fine. They really need to get slammed here. If not the whole league is screwed. You folks that think this is a minor infraction have low standards of fairness.
