    1. Not his child

    2. Collins has a legitimate chance to start at RT this year with the Jets. Mac should sell this point hard.

Mac should also mention that he may get a shot to start at LT in 2016.

Looks like there is League wide interest - if not the Jets prefer not AFC East

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports LSU T/G La'El Collins' first visit will be to the Cowboys.

La Canfora deems Collins "the most coveted undrafted free agent in NFL history," which really isn't an exaggeration considering he was seen as a lock first-rounder before an unfortunate series of events resulted in Collins falling out of the draft entirely. Collins' chances of starting in Dallas wouldn't be great when compared to other potential destinations, though we imagine he may be a better left guard option than Ronald Leary, who is the relative weakness on the Cowboys' line.

I think the Patriots are about to land their 1st round pick that they're probably going to have taken away from them for next year.

I say talk to the kid but make sure the contract is fully voidable if he turns into a viable suspect.

Jerry Jones "rolled out the red carpet" for this kid yesterday. Had every O-Linemen make a pitch to him. He's trying to construct the best offensive line so I doubt we have a chance.

The Cowboys line could get Chris Johnson back to CJ2K it would be that good

At this point i don't know if anyone is going to sign him until he is fully cleared. He seems to be betting on his innocence as well, in not wanting to make a deal with a team till his name is cleared and he can demand top dollar (or at least control his location since Im not sure how the wage cap works as far as UDFAs go). That being said, i don't think it would hurt to have our name in the hat of teams that were in touch with him and "put faith in his claim of innocence". If we "just talk to him" at this point and he does get wrapped up in the case, we move a long and count it as due diligence. If all is clear and we end up signing him, we count it as time invested in a possible stud at a position of need. So to answer the question in short, yes we should contact him, it cant hurt to just talk to the kid

The results of a paternity test administered to LSU T/G La'El Collins showed that he is not the father of murder victim Brittney Mills' child.

Collins also passed a polygraph test in connection with the investigation into Mills and her unborn child's murders. Baton Route (LA) police continue to view Collins as a non-suspect. He isn't even seen as a "person of interest" in the case.

It's definitely true. If you're Collins, why wouldn't you look at protecting Brady, Rivers, Brees, Rodgers, or Wilson? These QBs will make you look good for your first three years, which, if you're looking for your second contract, is what you want. Right?

I'm sure Jerry has already lent Collins the services of his "fixer".

What we can offer is the best DL in the league for him to practice against and hone his craft.

That and living in the Big Apple.

I still think we should have used a draft pick on him.

Had we used a pick on him he would have been able to sit out this year and then reenter the draft (or so I've read)

If we obtained and used a late second rounder (maybe even a third) on him I am sure he could have been convinced to suit up.

why risk that kind of asset/investment for a guy tied up in a murder trial?

the big apple might not be an ideal spot for someone caught up in this murder investiagation. cant really lay low here.

i doubt practiving vs a good dline is a high priority

id think a lock starting spot at LT would be first on his list

agree...it's easy to say in retrospect.

there's a reason nobody spent anything on him...during the draft nobody knew what was going on and he was undraftable. he was also stating if picked on day 3 he wouldn't sign.

Cowboys signed him to a 3 year deal, fully gauranteed.
