I don't think the Jets have a chance, Todd Bowles doesn't seem the type to let a prospect hump his wife

Seems like others agree too!!! ;)

LSU G/T La'El Collins wants to sign with a team that will allow him to play tackle.

Playing tackle would help maximize his earnings on a second contract since Collins won't be getting paid much for his first three years in the league. The Dolphins would seem to be longshots to land Collins in light of this news, since they already have LT Branden Albert and RT Ja'Wuan James.

This gives us a REALISTIC SHOT

Assuming we have interest. I would like to think we are just keeping things close to the vest but it even leaked today that the Giants are interested and nothing ever leaks out over there. I am guessing we don't.

If we were to hypothetically sign Collins and place him at RT is Breno suitable for guard?

Assuming he is CLEARED for sure, I'd hope the Jets would be on this.

We'd basically get a free 1st round pick.

Most people assume he would slide right in. He's only played tackle and tight end in his collegiate/NFL career but regardless he'd be an upgrade over Colon.

He could end up being a good player if he's cleared but all of this stuff coming out of his camp seems like a bit much moving forward.

Forcing his way into the league as a tackle to pave the way for his second contract and demanding teams don't draft him or else he'll enter the 2016 draft?

Shouldn't he first and foremost release a statement of remorse that his possible child is dead? Meanwhile he's worried about his SECOND NFL contract already.

It just doesn't speak very well to his character at all.

Yeah which is mostly why I'm asking. Is he built to play guard? He feels a little lanky for the position no? Ideally in this situation he'd slide over and our line would actually be in pretty strong shape.

Dude got his name dragged through the mud for no reason costing him millions of dollars.

Why in the hell does he owe anyone a statement of remorse?

He owes his possible dead child some remorse. Regardless of the fact that it cost him millions of dollars there are two dead human beings out there.

The bigger problem is the fact that he's already pushing the fact that he's worried about his second contract so he doesn't want to play guard. Maybe it all blows over and we look back on this and think it was all silly. Regardless I don't see how releasing that information is beneficial to him, it just makes him look like he's more concerned with his money than contributing to a team trying to win.

I'm not saying it's wrong of him to think that way but he essentially has his pick of teams at this point. He and his agent easily could've kept that information to himself and went to a team where he had a clear cut shot to compete at one of the tackles.

It's just bad PR for someone who really didn't need it.

Breaking: I've been notified by representatives of OT La'el Collins that his paternity test results were negative. Specifically, Collins is not the father of Brittney Mills' child and Collins passed A polygraph test administered by an independent investigator in connection with Mills' case.

Nicely said. His priorities are rather fucked up.

Put yourself in his shoes before you go pointing fingers at him.

Some lucky team (I really hope it is us) will get top ten, possibly pro bowl talent without giving up draft picks or all that much cap space.

If he truly has his pick of all 32 teams and there is no additional money to be had for the next three years what else could he possibly ask for other than a legit chance to play tackle?

As an NFL player he is literally putting his life on the line every time he takes the field. If he is doing it for free I do not see why he shouldn't want a chance at some upside.

Also, everyone owes the possible child some remorse but you don't see me asking you to make some official public statement about it. It should go without saying that the dude is unhappy that a child was killed.
