My pleasure. I was rooting for this kid to be a Jet last year and it will be incredible if he pans out.

If Gailey can make guys like Kordell Stewart and Ryan Fitz serviceable starters, he can do the same for Petty. And with this defense the Jets in the next few years will be an exciting team to watch.

Jets fans are the type that would win the lottery and then complain about how much $ they took out in taxes.

Relax boys & girls, it's starting to get interesting and fun in Jetland.

This guy could end up being the best player in the draft for us or another Greg McElroy. He might even be ready to play sometime this season. And could end up the best Qb on the team. Which isn't that hard to accomplish. Wouldn't that be great, Stokes.

If that happens. You could get off your franchise Qb bandwagon. And concentrate on something else. Maybe get a franchise long snapper?

LOL, I don't dispute that Cleveland inquired, that happens all the time. I dispute that they actually made an offer of any substance. Why? If Cleveland had actually made an offer that tempted Jax to move down that far it would have been a far sweeter offer than the Jets offering a 7th round pick, the lowest 7th rounder at that.
It's common sense, Cleveland had 2 4th rounders, no 5th. If Cleveland had made a strong enough offer for the Jags to move down 12 or so slots the offer would have blocked that would have been more than the last 7th round pick of the jets.

Did the Jets get snookered abit? yep, I believe so. It happens, it's poker, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

But as far as the NFL sources, these are the same sources that said the Browns had offered both their 1st round picks for Mariotta, which Cleveland says never happened.

    Who cares?

We gave up a bottom 30 pick in the ENTIRE draft to get the guy we wanted.

    Who. Cares.

LOL, Stokes you're a two dimensional caricature of a person, you abandon all argument and fall it to "you hate so and so" mode. You did it with Sanchez (a backup), you did it with Manziel (who wound up in rehab), and now you're doing it on Petty. Because I don't think he'll develop in to an NFL QB your only response is 'you hate him'. Is there a chance he'll become an NFL starter? sure, but he's not the strongest arm, he's not the quickest reader, he's from a simplified air raid system where he was almost always throwing to his first read. He's 80% likely to be out of the league in 2 years, 19% likely to be Matt Simms at best, and 1% likely to be a starter. It is what it is.
My favorite pick for QB's was mannion, guess what. As far as I'm concerned he had a day 3 grade as well and despite him having better odds of being in the league in 2 or 3 years it's only slightly better odds and that's mostly because of the system he came out of.

Face it, Air raid system QB's moving to the NFL have failed in the NFL at an extremely high rate, even for highly regarded QB's. It's not Petty I dislike, it's the system he came out of and how players from that system have been able to translate in to the NFL and be successful.

But in your shallow mind that equates to hating the person.

Oh, like I said a LONG time ago before strokes decided to make a big deal over it, the cost was inconsequential and didn't matter. I just made the comment that the Jets got bluffed in to moving up.

LOL. Yeah okay--sure, that's what you did.

Give it up dude. It's not that big of a deal.

It gauls 68 that this FO might have done something aggressive and smart for a player he doesn't like.

yes, it's no big deal, it's s day 3 pick at the tail end of the draft....but then again another 7th round BFD was turned in to an NFL RB through trade.
Yes 95% of 7th round picks don't stick to rosters, but the more bullets you have the more likely you are to score a hit.

If you were to go back through this thread you'd see I said the 7th rounder was no big deal, Strokes decided to make it a huge issue and I'm tired of that shit trying to bully people over their comments. Nuff said.

At some pint if you don't accept my eminently reasonable arguments as well as other posters here, then it's got to be something else.

And judging by your comments, it's pretty clear you hate Petty.

    It's ok.

Just don't blow smoke up TGGs ass.

    Own it.

If it's not that big of a deal why did you inflate to to being a 3 page thing? an off hand comment and you latched on to it like a crack whore to a 1 dollar bill.

What ever you say Strokes old boy. You decided to inflate the statement and make a big deal out of it, so who's blowing smoke.
