Ryan never picked the players, it was Tannenbaum and then Idzik. He was given one pick one year and he took John Connor.
They don't have a first round pick this year. But if they did, it would be a CB that doesn't turn his head around to locate for the ball.
http://www.nj.com/eagles/index.ssf/...ould_injury_to_oregon_cb_ifo_ekpre-olomu.html Rex likes 'em injured or if they have an injury history.
Yea it was just pure coincidence that the 2 different GM's picked CB's and DL's early every year for our defensive minded coach who loved his defense and always talked about his defense, never seemed to care about his offense and loved defensive backs and used to be a DL coach. pure coinkidink
they don't have a first round pick.. if i had to guess, they look OL in round 2.. DB and LB are reasonable projections too, depending on what value is available. they need a QB more than anything, but i don't think there will be a guy worth the pick there.
Rex said himself during the MMQB article that 'he knew he wasn't the boss anymore' after Tanny got fired and Idzik came in. In April 2012 the Jets hired a new team president, Neil Glat. That season the team went 6–10, and general manager Mike Tannenbaum subsequently was replaced by John Idzik. Despite having put on a good face, Ryan says he felt like a “leftover” under the new GM, half of an arranged marriage “who could be replaced at any time.” “I wasn’t the boss anymore,” Ryan says. “I was just a guy. Whether they want to say it or not, all of a sudden I became less important to the team.”
so Rex only cares about DB's and DL's, so we should mock the clueless Bills and their new leadership. do i have the narrative of this thread correct? Yet our new regime literally spends all are FA money on 4 DB's, and uses our #6 overall pick on a DL. does anyone see the irony? has the 'new' approach been that much different? fwiw, i think Mac did a great job this offseason, and also think Buff got good value on Darby. important positions, and you have to pick up players where the opportunity or value presents itself.
Seriously Don? Like Tannenbaum (that cap nerd) had a legitimate eye for talent?….that he was was truly a 'football' guy? Even taking your contention at face value (that The Terminator was Rex's only pick), wasn't Bilal Powell in the 4th supposedly a Rex pick as well?
