From NFL.com: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...aft-jaelen-strong-leads-gems-left-after-day-1 If we end up with one of the guys near the top of this list, I will be happy. In the early rounds you have to go BPA I think.
Either Devin Smith or Eli Harold have a strong chance of becoming the Jets second pick. Both BPA and matching positions of need. Of course if it's Harold I can hear the bitching already, position of need or not.
Bitching would be very stupid. We've needed a OLB for 10 plus straight drafts. He would be the missing piece to this defense. It's not like we are drafting DL or CB.
I really can't see any other position on defense getting taken, even though I also thought that last night. I pray to god we don't draft another freaking d-lineman and finally address the position that we absolutely need to. Harold is my #1 target right now with Gregory close behind. DGB and Devin Smith would be okay but Jake Fisher would be smarter IMO.
Totally agree. Harold in my opinion can very easy be the last piece to transform us into the top 3-5 defense in this league. I would be thrilled.
wouldn't be upset with Landon Collins either. Should've been the first safety off the board and Bowles has a role for him
We already have 10 strong safeties. He should have been taken already but we just took Pryor last year. So in reality it's a perfect formula for the jets to take him.
I'd argue that OLB is way greater of a need. We really want to start Pace again? More comfortable that we have 3 legit WRs on this team than the fact that we have more than 1 OLB.
I'd be a fan of Tevin Coleman here. Rumors are that a team was trying to trade back into the first round to get him.
That would be an absolute nightmare. The only way I'd even touch that guy is if for some reason literally nobody wants him and he's there in the 7th round. There's a 0% chance of that, though.
+1 He would be an absolute steal. Gregory and Landon Collins are the 2 best players available, head and shoulders above everyone else. We can dream that one of them will still be on the board when we pick!
Maybe I'm delusional but I thought IK showed significant promise--hoping he takes over for Pace this year
