A draft like that could either be amazing or a utter bust!! Gurley has injury issues but before he got hurt looked like a stud, Gregory has little between the ears failing Weed tests but can rush the passer and DGB has issues off the field and with authority but is a physical freek! I don't mind gambling on 1 boom or bust pick but 3??? With our first 3 picks to boot??? No thanks!
The more I think about it the more I'm thinking it's all bullshit. Wiz could have been calling him for Schefters world famous chili recipe, the one with chuck AND ground beef. Yeah that's it. _
There is no way he falls to 6 and there are about 10 other teams that want him now so lets see who gets him and just what it costs. Fortunately all the nonsense ends in less than a week.
The only reason I can see for Whisenhunt to call Schefter is as a smokescreen. He obviously would not just call him to tell him his plans, no benefit there, but he could call so that reports come out misleading others about his true intentions. Meaning they aren't really going after Mariota.
Teams spend months in fear of anyone finding out there true intentions and I'm supposed to believe that Whisenhunt calls up Shefter a week before the draft to reveal there plan? Cmon now.. I still believe Jets have as good a shot as anyone other than the Titans. If the Titans don't take him the dream is still alive.
Perhaps it's the first Adam Schefter smokescreen. Maybe Mac has an offer Tenn. cannot refuse. I say let our GM do his job and forget the rumors.

So the most accurate qbs of this class are Mariota, Waters, and Hundley. Oh those are the three qbs from this draft that I have been highest on what a cowinkidink. And I prefer the accuracy and maturity of Mariota to the interceptions and dumbassery of Winston, but hey, to each their own:
per Rotoworld "The Browns already offered No. 19 to the Rams for Bradford, prior to his trade to Philadelphia. St. Louis didn't accept because it wanted a quarterback, and wound up acquiring Nick Foles. The Browns are "still said to have interest" in Bradford. Per Eckel, the rumor has the Eagles then sending Nos. 19 and 20 -- plus Mychal Kendricks and Fletcher Cox -- to the Titans in exchange for No. 2 overall, where Philly would select Marcus Mariota. Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reported Friday that Bradford currently believes the Eagles may be planning to trade him." I can believe that.
I'd HATE it simply because they passed on Mariota. QB is more important than RB & OLB or any 3 or 4 positions combined.
A franchise QB is totally worth 3 #1 picks. I don't see a QB in the next 3 draft classes that will be seriously considered a potential franchise QB, but even if there is, I don't think the Jets will get within sniffing distance because Bowles will have this team at least at 8-8 this year, maybe better.
WOW -What a haul for Tennessee that would be!! That could be our Jets right there if not for those bogus late season wins vs. Tennessee & Miami. We could be the ones benefitting from Chip Kelly's boner! We'd tell them to swap Fletcher Cox for a 1st round pick next year. The 19, the 20, Mychal Kendricks and next year's first. fuck us and december wins when were horrible. Gregory at 19, take the big receiver Perriman at the 20.. plug Kendricks in on that D and get two first rounders next year. Fuckin A
At a minimum, we'd have the option of taking and keeping Mariota or getting a haul of picks. That's why I think those who prefer another meaningless win or two are nuts. If you're not going to make the playoffs, imo it's better to be 2-14 than 4-12 or even 6-10. It's much easier to improve more quickly when you have the higher draft picks. That has been clearly demonstrated over the last 5 years or so. When you're a mediocre 7-9 or 8-8 team, it's a LOT more difficult to get the caliber of players you need that can help you improve to 12-4.
