I think Dalton hovers in and around that range, if not, right below it. Compared to most 2nd round QBs he's been pretty good. Most 2nd round QBs are barely good enough to see the field or shouldn't be on the field (see Geno). I am talking about the guys in that range that had enough talent to be drafted early in the first round (see Cam, Stafford, Alex Smith on a good year, Bradford when healthy…etc.). If you knew Mariota would develop into nothing more than a more athletic Tannehill, another example, do you pick him over a stud WR because of the importance of the position?
You guys kill me with your weird Mariota comparisons. Now he's "a more athletic Tannehill". He looks like Kaepernick 2.0 to me.
The problem is, though, that you can't really replicate the pressure of a real game in the offseason. I'm not so sure if he can improve his decisions when he's not playing real games, so it's probably for the best that he used whatever program the best QB coach had to offer. Last year he just seemed to focus on athletics, his strong suit- so hopefully this will be better. Hopefully the Jets will get good QB play from whoever.
If (insert the name of your favorite deity) was a QB, he would be Mariota. To me he's like a more subtle version of God. Kind of like Jesus but with a better completion percentage

Nothing about their games are similar. The only comparison I see is a slightly better throwing version of Kaepernick.
