To be accurate, he was using the term "Nigga" and not "Nigger".. Evidently the slur has evolved and applies to anyone in that generation regardless of race. Of course the mouth breathing, knuckle dragging Neanderthals looking for vindication of their own racial views won't get that.
That's a really messed up video. It also is national and it hurts people of color more than a lot of messed up stuff like that step father of the kid in the midwest telling to burn the city down, actually, because it is more palatable to the evening news then angry rhetoric. There is a lot of stuff that can be mished into black/white slang but this doesn't fall into that
Not being in a media center and used to dealing with this level of coverage, Harrison evidently didn't realize that "the mic is always on". Can't wait until the equivocation begins. Next thing you know, Harrison will be wearing a black robe with a black beret toting a AK47 and applying for membership in ISIS while doing selfies with Obama. The spittin image of Hewy P. Newton, H. Rap Brown and Malcolm X all mashed up into a brand new boogieman. Gotta love the 21st century version of the 20th century.
It is hard to just push this kind of this into the background for me and parody it like he'll be a black panther, sort of like I don't buy into your imagery. He was sitting on a stage knowing he had national coverage and was just stupid enough to call a white boy a nigger after he had lost the biggest game of his career. You can create fantasies that take away from that but this is what it really was. It's embarrassing to me, he actually called a white boy a "nigger" because he was frustrated and I don't know what makes me madder, his stupidity or his ignorance. And now you are being more ignorant than he was. You have to be better than that.
He said: "Nigga", not "Nigger". You have to understand the new Blenglish language. I'm not creating anything. This new generation already has created and neutralized the slur into something that applies to anyone. Spend some time around younger people and you'll hear it more often than you'd think.
Yeah he said "nigga" and he was talking about a white boy. What the heck are you really getting at? I'm part of the new generation and I know that people use words as liberally as they want, I think you may be out of the loop when it comes to the new generation, because I really don't get your angle.
Cman, if the shoe were on the other foot and it was the white kid who said that about the black kid, are you really telling us you'd be okay with it because he said "nigga," not "nigger?" And expecting anyone at all to believe you? The outrage would be deafening.
But just as offhand a remark by a stupid white kid and this becomes a national horrific story and that kid gets ostracized from society. _
It would be a national outrage for weeks. That kid would never get drafted and would have to play in Europe for a few years before he was allowed back into the NBA and then it would come with conditions. And he'd never be fully accepted. This flew so far under the national consciousness it's embarrassing. _
