it's my opinion that the OLB interest is being overestimated, while the interest in the Olineman is being underestimated.

outside of Fowler, I'm not overly impressed with the OLB prospects.
they are good pass rushers, but am not convinced they are 3 down players who warrant a top 10 selection.

bold prediction: more Olineman will be selected in the top 10 than OLB's.
so why not take the best one if the board falls a certain way?

ftr, i believe Peat would be the guy if we select one.

GM Mike Mac will take the BPA at #6, trying to guess who will be available is tough.

If the Titans pick up MM, I'd like to see the Jets offer a mid-rounder next year for Mett (preferably 4th or 5th rounder). I'd view him as good enough to throw on the wall & see if he sticks.

I can't see Tenn dumping him at almost any cost, especially not a 4th or 5th rounder.

They like him and he'll probably hold the spot till Mariota is ready to take over and THEN they'll hold an auction for Mett. Plus he's on a REALLY cheap contract.

He's going to be a very good NFL QB. He'd be a perfect starter then backup for Tenn until they are forced to trade him.

Mariota will start day 1 by the team he is drafted by.. All this "he needs to sit a year" is overblown.

It's funny. I couldn't wait for April 30 a month ago. Now that it gets closer it feels so final.

A lot of it really has to do with development. GB did an outstanding job with Rodgers.

Who knows if Rodgers would still be Rodgers we know today had he been drafted by a garbage team.

Agree. Jets will never be a contending team unless they fix the QB problem which everyone admits is a problem. In this draft, there are two highly touted QB's within striking distance of the Jets ability to draft. The conventional wisdom has the Jets drafting a PR with their #1 pick. Doing that will will make a good defense better, but do little to help with problemo numero uno.

Do we want to possibly change the franchise for the next decade plus or do we want to add a very good player and make us perpetually mediocre?

I think that most Jets fans would prefer option B, because they think it's "safer," and perhaps would give them less agita. They are averse to risk in any shape or form. **Edit - I should have initially said that makes them no different than the general population. Most people are averse to risk.
