If Mariotta and/or Winston makes it to 3, the Jets should do everything in their power to make that their pick.
I remember that and I wasn't so put off by it because Carr really didn't have a running game, that was his running game. I think he's got a bigger arm than Hundley and was more accurate (notwithstanding similar comp %). Loved the way Carr commanded that offense. Brilliant. _
http://turnonthejets.com/2015/03/deep-dive-the-truth-behind-marcus-mariota/ Excellent piece, that debunks some of the nonsense posters have spouted in this thread.
Yeah--but but but ...he's not Andrew Luck!!! Final Verdict Marcus Mariota’s skill set is a lot more pro-ready than many people are indicating. Don’t fall for the typical spread QB stereotypes. He can be so much more than that, including the future for the New York Jets at the QB position. _
Rich Cimini @RichCimini 8m8 minutes ago Marcus Mariota chatting with Jets QBs coach Kevin Patullo before throwing at pro day. #nyj
I think at this point, Mac really needs to move up in this draft and take him. With all of this being released, it is only gonna fuel the fire for a team like Tennessee or Washington to take him. I'd be so pissed if that happened
Don't know if Bowles is there but Mac, the QB coach and Gailey are all there. They must have some real interest for that contingent.
No, the article posted. McShay is at the pro day and was raving about him, specifically about to the Jets but considering how impressive he has been in talks with Tennessee, they may just decide to take him. And said Washington is also a serious contender. Said the Jets may very well have to go up to get him. Thinks he could be an exceptional player. I don't need him to tell me that but he seems to be pretty high on him. I don't think the workouts have started yet. _
mariota's workout kinda reminded me of newton's workout. Mariota had better mechanics but Cam had a bigger arm. I thought it was a mistake for Mariota to train by himself, after O'connell left for the browns. Petty and Winston are still training with their qb coach.
McShay? Really? There's a reason McShay is on ESPN, and not in one of 32 front offices..His drafts generally follow the Conventional Wisdom. You get better mocks, from the guys here. Hey if the Jets draft him hope I am wrong, but...having been right about Smith, almost to the letter...and fairly well vindicated on the Sanchez issue, (Please...the Foles trade was about moving Foles, not getting Bradford, don't take my word for it, look at Bradfords record. ...Never won 8 games, Hasn't played since 2013,Hasn't completed over 61%, the only area he has ouperformed Marky Marks performance under Kelley, is less turnovers. FAR less turnovers...but let's face it, the Iggles traded Foles away for a guy thats never won 8 games in a season, and has played 49 out of 80 possible games...clearly Kelley thinks banking on Sanchez is more profitable than Idzik did....)
Lol isn't it hypocritical to discount McShay b/c he doesn't work for one of the 32 front offices but then talk about how you were right so many times before and we should trust your judgment? If you do work for one of the 32 front offices, I stand corrected, but as it stands I can barely read this last paragraph you just wrote. Do you really think that Mariota is a similar or worse prospect than Geno Smith was? I know both ran spread systems in college but they are very, very different prospects. Mariota is a much better prospect IMO, which is why he will not be falling to the 2nd round.
