Well that was my original statement haha. It was unfortunate that he got injured at the end of the year, and then the backup.....and then the third string.

Though they were 2-0 without him starting...

He's a Geno fan. He doesn't want any competition for his savior.

    I like this move.
Fitzpatrick is competent and smart. He'll give Geno some competition and at the very least help tutor him.
It also gives the Jets options at he number six pick.
Despite getting Marshall, I'd still be inclined to go for Cooper or White at this spot.
I wouldn't be surprised if they went defense for an edge rusher, especially since the secondary has been upgraded.

I'm sure Mariota's people are sweating it out now.

Are people really excited about Ryan Fitzpatrick? Did one guy actually say "can we be a playoff team after going 4-12"? I don't hate the move, but really who cares, we have Geno Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick, two terrible QBs. I'm still hoping maybe Mariotta will fall to us and we'll trade the pick to the Eagles for Bradford and their pick.

They still have that class at Harvard?

When I was there I know there was a discussion with the Provost that "Time Changes 101" was outdated and no longer needed in the curriculum...

It's not a bad move but not a great move. It's just there.

its not like we got him to be the savior of the franchise

there's literally no qbs out there that are any good and we needed a qb

You think grabbing Ryan Fitzpatrick is anything more than a "meh" move?
Then you're in for a season of disappointment.

I can understand your wanting to move on from Geno. I'm very disappointed in how little he has progressed and frustrated with his play, but I think you're letting your frustration and desire to get rid of him blind you. Patience is a virtue. Gailey is known for getting the best out of his QBs, and he runs a spread type offense that he tailors to suit the talents of his players. From that perspective alone, it wouldn't make much sense to jettison Geno before the Jets see what Gailey can do with him. Further, Glennon is a pocket QB, not a spread QB. He wouldn't be a good fit. As far as the contract goes, yes Glennon is still on his rookie contract, but you're forgetting the cost of the draft pick or picks to acquire him. With a good chance of Mariota being available, they would be nuts to give away their 3rd or 2nd round pick for Glennon, when they could use that to add Brick's replacement, another WR, an OG, or a pass rusher. Sorry, but trading for Glennon just makes zero sense imo.

Wrong, Houston radio is not celebrating, actually the talk is why didn't they get more, seeing that the Jets were desperate.
