I like it. Smart to trade for him too. If he was released they might've had to pay more for him. Fitz did things last year with decent weapons in Houston. Well we have some weapons now too. And the OC that's made him look the best he's ever looked. Low risk high reward type move.
He could, but it's not very likely imo. Geno has to learn Gailey's system, whereas Fitzpatrick won't. That's a HUGE advantage, especially with Geno's seemingly low football IQ. Then there's the TO issue. Bowles is on record as saying that if a QB turns the ball over, he'll find himself on the bench. Fitzpatrick can throw some picks to be sure, but he's less likely to than Geno. I'm sad to say that with Geno, throwing interceptions is a given.
Guys check out the game logs for Fitzpatrick last season http://www.nfl.com/player/ryanfitzpatrick/2506581/gamelogs he threw for 6TDs against Titatns on 11/30 AND Since week 5 he went: 11TDS, 3 INTS (missed 3 games in between)
That would be a real mess down there. RG3 (and his his yips), Cousins (nobody wants the guy anymore) and then Mariotta on top of that?
I can't see the Redskins taking Mariota. I think they started that rumor just to try to push Kelly into burning picks to trade up. I've always hated the Foreskins. If they take Mariota, it will just be another nail in their coffin as far as I'm concerned. I hope you're right about TN.
And 3 of his INTs were at the Giants. He had 7 zero INT games in 12 games. Geno had 4 zero INT games in 14 games. _
I don't see that happening. The Jets aren't gonna trade for two QBs and I seriously doubt that Glennon is on the market. It also makes no sense since Geno is still on his rookie contract, and has shown flashes/potential.
Solid move. Fitz isn't great but he is steady and he knows how to play the position. He can be a good mentor for Geno as a backup, or he can hold the fort as a starter.
Like this move a lot. 9th-best QB rating in the NFL last year. Better than Wilson, Rivers, Ryan, Eli, Flacco, etc.
Geno also had 3 picks in 3 throws. Anyone discrediting 6TDs against ANY team doesn't know much about football. Amazing!
Andre Johnson, Arian Foster, and DeAndre Hopkins... Yes he was the reason they didn't make the playoffs. Houston radio is celebrating he's not a Texan today.
The evaluation by Houston was they didn't want him back. They wouldn't have signed Hoyer if they liked him so much. Basically Bill O'Brien is going with two former NEP backups he had when he was with New England. But a good deal for the Jets because he has a relationship with Gailey and he's an upgrade over Geno. So we should be seeing a better offense this year with a good receiving corps and hopefully improvement on the o-line.
Okay, I'm sorry, but I do not believe that 2 or 3 good games in a season is enough to show "flashes/potential" The trade with TB for Glennon would be a wash because Glennon is still on his rookie contract IF the Jets decide to keep Geno, I would understand it. Wouldn't agree, but would understand. I just hope they are going to move on from him. IF the Jets keep Geno, then I will support him and root for him 100%
