I like approve this move. Not earth shattering, but it makes the most sense considering who is available. Fear the beard!
Best of the mediocre at best options. Hopefully chan remebers the magic trick that made fitz look like he was a $50m qb
I've been saying the Jets should get Fitzpatrick for weeks. My prediction is he will win the starting job and have a great year with the Jets. I just have a feeling about it.
i like the move considering the options.. also doesn't cost much in terms of salary or trade comp. he can be a stop gap, as well as a mentor. i'd roster him for a few years, but hopefully only start him this year.
If nothing else, we have a QB that is smart enough to adjust his watch to account for timezone changes...
I'm not hating on the move. He's a good fit. Now, if we can move Geno and bring in Glennon, I'll be VERY happy
Brian Costello 9m RT @McClain_on_NFL: Texans get conditional 7 that can become 6th with playtime for Fitzpatrick. 2016 pick. Worth it.
Titans run a vertical offense - Mariota is not a fit @ #2 - been saying this for months now. Rumors are the Redskins will take Mariota @ 5.
If that's the case, and the Jets really like Mariota, they'd have to trade a mid-round pick and jump up to 4 and grab him if he falls.
Hard to get excited if he's our definite starter. We know what we're getting in him which is mediocre QB play. Edit I take that back I dont blame the Texans season entirely on him.
Right, but in order to beat out Fitzpatrick he is going to have to be at least competent. So Fitzpatrick set a floor on the Jets QB situation that just wasn't there last year. Vick was past it, which in retrospect should have been clear since he was 5-11 in his last 16 starts with the Eagles before the Jets signed him.
