it never breaks down to avg money - 16 million for 3 years (Where he will be paid in full) and then possible cut or restructure (while he is receiving 11/year for the final 2 years)

To be fair, the very last time it was very media driven. Never once did Revis say he was holding out or did his agents. Yes, we were forced to trade him, but we didn't have to deal with the craziness of him leaving off-season workouts, etc. (from Hard Knocks, for example.)

This contract will prevent that, at least in the first 3 years. After that he'll be too old to holdout for a contract worth more than $11 million, honestly. Well, maybe not, but at least by then we guarantee him nothing.

That seems pretty good. The team is taking the most risk in the first two years.

It's $16 million a year for the next 3 years...don't let the 5 yr $70 mil fool you...I can easily see us cutting him in 3 years when he's 33, or else we THEN would be paying $14 mil a year for the final 2 years for a 35 year old CB...

Wow that's horrendous. We will have a corner making $17 mil next season?!

    14 million a year.

48 mill in the first 3? means 22 in the last two… digestible in the back end, so theres that.

how about a no holdout clause. that might make even jaded mofo's like me smile. or game day bonuses in case of injury!

    please?...

There really isnt a sure-fire upgrade at all from what it looks like. But maybe Mac has a plan to get something here.

The window for being a very good team is open..but as we saw in 2011 it closes fast and hard. I think the good news is , is just being average at the QB position could make us a playoff team next season.

I'd be lying if I said I still wasn't bitter that he won his first super bowl with the patriots.

In time I'm sure I'll get over it, but I'm still mad. Never should've let him go in the first place.

Front loaded contract. I'm happy to have a corner like REvis on the team, but still think it's a LOT to pay a corner. They have the room to do it though.

So the Jets could cut revis after two years, take a 6 mil hit and move on. Not too, bad. Could cut him after 3 years with no cap hit at all.

It's 48mil per for 3 years. Years 4 and 5 will never happen. They're there to lessen the cap hit.
