We haven't been a ground n' pound offense since '10 when we were winning football games. Ivory had (1) 20carry game last season You guys hate Geno, but we throw the kid 25+ times a game (11) games last season. Calling the Jets "Ground n' Pound" the last 4 seasons is a lie.

running the ball about half the time, passing half the time, is exactly what balance is. works pretty well for the Seahawks. that's what we've been doing as well. but unlike the Seahawks, we've done so out of necessity as our QB's have been turnover machines who cannot be trusted with an inordinate amount of drop backs. i don't see what's changed this year. we aren't in a position to throw the ball 75% of the time, nor should we start trying to. call it what you like, but we'll be dependent on running the ball again this season. if that's not working, we'll be completely fucked.
If it makes our Pass happy NFL fans feel better, let's call the offense "PA pass offense" (Geno sucks at faking the ball though and the offense will never work out of shotgun ie read option). If we ran traditional single back, I, split I, pro and had backs like Ivory (murray), powell with passing threats in Marshall, Decker, Kerley, Amaro; a great faking QB should be able to have a field day. Murray, Ivory keeping defenses honest; bang the football inside and outside tackles; pull it out PA fake Linebackers and DB's bite; chuck that shit over the top to Marshall or Decker and Kerley over the middle or Amaro. Also Screen passes to scat back like Powell. We have a lot of weapons now to run this offense effectively. Murray would be a dream upgrade.. re build this offensive line, that in short sucks (need big pulling guards like a Faneca) and then a Quarterback that knows how to hide the football/sell fakes.
I'm with you.. I like " old school football" it insane it's become a joke to run the ball, but with all the advantages to the reciever, this is the trend right now. I think if given the opportunity to really run the ball, ivory would be one of the best backs in football. Id rather him run on 3/6 than geno throw it. Lol I'm hoping they make a draft day trade and we get a qb so we can be balanced.
Bilal Powell was a Jet, is a Jet. Support the players on your team, the kid has been a solid contributor for this team when given the chance. The people shitting on him for no reason is why this fan base is so shitty. This is in no way a bad move, how is there so much bullshit being spewed out by some of you. It is crazy. We didn't break the bank for him, he is familiar with this team and players on this team, he has a great set of tools that we can take advantage of, he is durable and a great teammate. I don't totally agree with you. I think his being retained is good for team cohesion but I think it's mostly because the new CS was able to look at his film and see how criminally underused he was because of the stupid signing of CJ0K He's got low mileage and he does run hard when he is asked, I'm not sure where the idea that he isn't strong comes from. Stupid people will show you highlight reels, this season will show you what Powell is worth
