Guys, expect to see higher salaries across the board with the cap increase. New market values are being set
Dude I'm a Bills fan........I was responding to the poster who said the Bills have an issue at LB. We have more then enough depth at LB..........still dont think Harris to Buffalo was a done deal like so many believe. If that were true Harris would have at least tested the market , I doubt their was any mutual interest......especially since we have 2 starting ILBs in Brown and Bradham.
Lmao nah, just tell everyone how much you hate it Just further proves my point that no coach or GM is not in a win now mode
Not getting into this with you because as evidenced by me telling you my thoughts 5 times and you still being confused, I'm wasting my time.
No ones confused but yourself. You sat here and tried to argue that signing Marshall is a bad idea because of his age and that the front office needs to look long term. I tried to tell you that every coach and GM is always looking to win now, and you argued the opposite saying you had tons of evidence to prove it. Well, here we are, hours later, and we have traded for Brandon Marshall and resigned David Harris. Two moves that prove we are looking to win now, a mindset every coach and GM has. You aren't arguing it because you were dead wrong.
That makes absolutely no sense at all. We traded Kiko away because of Brown and Bradham not because we hoped to sign Harris.........NFL teams dont operate like that. How did we trade away a starter on defense when Kiko missed all 16 games? I think most Bills fans were curious to see how Kiko was going to fit into Rex's defense. Bradham is in line for an extension per media outlets in Buffalo. ILB - Brown ILB - Bradham OLB - Mario OLB - Lawson/Hughes? Please tell me how Harris was gonna fit into that lineup? Was he gonna push the 25 and 22 year starting ILBs to the bench after they both came off 100+ tackle seasons and helped lead the defense to a #4 ranking? I think the Harris to Buffalo connection is similiar to the Sanchez to Buffalo connection and the Nassib going to Buffalo because of Marrone connetion. It's just lazy reporters connecting the dots without doing any real research.
You then tried to tell me that Decker, who is 4 inches taller than the average and near 40 pounds bigger than the average isn't considered a huge receiver. Hmm...
Good deal. Short term is good, gives the Jets the flexibility to find his heir on their own timetable.
HATE this deal. Sure it's basically a 2 year deal.. no way will he make it to see year 3 but that much money? Seriously? It's not about this year because we have plenty of cash for that but also next year hurts. We won't be spending every dime this off-season but don't blow next years on guys like this.
Amazed at the Jets fans who don't like this move. I love it. It is a lot of money for a declining linebacker, but i like the message it sends to Jets players. That we take care of our own.
I don't mind the deal at all, could have been cheaper but ultimately it's a two year deal, solidifies that spot for a bit, keeps him out of Buffalo and currently cap space isn't a problem. I doubt we'll go from having piles of extra cap space to cap hell in two seasons so we cut or restructure in year three to reduce the cap hit and we're good going forward. Plus, I don't think we know how much is signing bonus and whatnot anyway.
I'm good with this move. He's good at stuffing the run and controlling the middle of the field and he's also good at shooting the gap to get to the QB when the defense calls for that action from him. He's not a top pass rusher but very few 3-4 ILB's are. 7 per is reasonable for him, if the Jets had let him hit the market he probably would have gotten 7.5-8M.
WRONG Rex was bringing in Harris to run his defense. And start at one of ILB. And now he stays with Jets. Sucks for you, Rex, and the Bills LOL
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but one of Rex's biggest faults is that he virtually always chooses veterans over younger, up-and-coming players. He may not have been interested in Harris, you may be right, but beware of Rex's decision making. There have been many, many examples of him choosing a beloved (but aging) veteran over a better 22 or 25-year-old.
lol this is a really good move. We need harris back, there would be a HUGE hole in the middle of our D and i feel like we would miss him so much if he left, kinda like when we understood how Cro had to be cut then we he was cut , we realized how much we need CB
I like Harris and it's nice the jets took care of him, but... It reminds me of when we gave mo Lewis and marvin jones big money at the end of there career. He got allot of money from the jets for a 2 down linebacker. I hope this goes better than those 2 went
Thats possible. But when Rex came here he brought Bart Scott and Jim Leonhard with him. Coaches usually do that so its not crazy to think. There is some traction to it and most likely would've happened if the Jets let Harris test the market. Harris isnt a 4 down guy though. But neither is Brown from what I know of him. And Im not talking about OLB's cause its clear that isnt a problem there. ILB is very thin though so maybe I should've made that clear in my initial post. And arent the Bills considering moving Bradham to ILB? To me that says the have little depth there.
Wow. You still lack the basic ability to read. I said it 5 times for you. 5. What you're doing is impressive.
7.5 mil a year in the new salary cap is not a lot, please guys save it we actually have money to resign key players why not get them back instead of going to possible in divison rivals
