Let's get to the point in the article by Cimini

"...the Jets have to dole out some serious cash to stay in line with the league's minimum-spending requirement. Their cash payroll for 2015 and 2016 needs to average about $141 million to remain in compliance. To hit $141 million this year, they'll have to raise the actual payroll by more than $60 million.

In other words, they can re-sign David Harris, extend Muhammad Wilkerson's contract, sign two or three top free agents and take a cruise around the world without even sweating the cap."

    Good stuff.

And I assume this doesnt include an extra $10 million (or whatever the actual cap charge is) if Percy isn't resigned?

I don't spout off too much about wanting to sign the biggest name free agent, but with that space you gotta go after Suh and figure out everyone else around him to make him fit. That's a special player if you can keep him under control. Just use the rest of the cap on a Suh-Buster armor.

Might as well add the 10.5 got Harvin which puts us over 60 mill in cap space.

can we sink that much into him knowing how much we will have to pay Mo and then Shelden in a year or 2? that's a lot invested in the DL.

I'd rather not go after Suh and get 2 legit CBs and 1x Safety worth having

While Suh would be an unreal D line I agree with some of these other posters, you could get McCourty and possibly Cobb for the same price.

I think that's a lot of money into one position area. Normally I wouldn't want to go crazy in FA but we have to spend a ton but I still hope they keep some flexibility.

    Nice number.

Cut Percy, sign Cobb or Maclin for that 10 mil.

    Sign Maxwell and Cro

Jerkoff with the remaining 25 mil.

Sign Suh, Cobb, McCourty, and Cromartie. Keep Harvin and extend Wilkerson.

Go into the draft with great receivers, solid corners, and a ridiculous defensive line.

Draft Mariota or Winston in the first. Draft offensive line, running back, and pass rusher.

This team could be very good next year

Please no. This team would be in cap hell by the time they need to extend Sheldon if they sign Suh.

Cobb's overrated. I'd rather have Maclin, at least he was the best receiver on his team and he didn't have the MVP throwing to him. Lose Harvin, guy can't stay healthy and get Jerry Hughes before Rex resigns him. Definitely get McCourty and Cro though.
