If Revis is released, he is my number 1 target at CB. He is still the top player at his position and would be able to teach the younger players how to play CB and breakdown film properly.

Cro would be a good signing as long as he isn't signed to be a #1 CB.

Maxwell would be my top target at CB right now.

Maxwell and Cromartie sounds more appealing. We can get them both for the price of Revis realistically. Plus there's still Milliner to kinda lean on if anything happens to one of them.

Front load Maxwell, back load Revis, let Harvin sign with NE, let Harris sign somewhere else, draft an edge rusher, sign a free safety that is decent, sign two guards, draft a QB, sign a journeyman QB, sign a pass rusher, draft a free safety prospect, draft a speed rusher, sign Spiller

39 tackles and 1 int is a force?

Earl Thomas is a force at safety I wouldn't put TM anywhere near his level right now

Taking a top 3 player at his position away which is a luxury not an expectation, tm is pretty darn good like I said. What he did in that scheme was incredibly effective. There are of course many times where stats aren't the only indicator of performance .

It may be possible, but is one of the dumbest ideas I've seen put forth on this board. You guys need to get over your Revis obsession. That's history, he's not the player he was, yet is still gonna demand BIG money. Eff Revis.

Cro would be worth it for a year if his asking price is reasonable. He could possibly help the youngsters learn Bowles' system. He wants to be here. I fully expect the Jets to sign someone like Kareem Jackson, Maxwell or Culliver.

Absolutely not. Wilkerson needs to have his contract front loaded. When you say back load Revis, you are risking Richardson signing else where in the future.

I'd rather not put a large portion on the cap on the CB position.

It's not about holding a grudge, but rather an obsession with Revis on the part of some Jets fans. He's ancient history, let it go. He's not the player he was when he was here before, yet he's gonna demand big $s. He's greedy and would probably hold out again next year if he didn't get more money. We could sign two CBs, plus another FA for what Revis will want.

Maxwell is gonna be looking in the 9-10M per range. Cromartie will be around the 5-7M per range. You think Revis will get 14M + a year?

Not the player he was? He had one of his best years this past season. He may be on the verge of 30, but he still has a good 3-5 years left of great CB play.

You don't know that, so don't act as if you do. Regardless, it's pointless. You guys need to get over Revis. It's like you're in love with him or something. We could sign 2 CBs plus another FA for what that greedy asswipe would want. I'd rather see the franchise fold than re-sign that POS.

That is the stupidest thing I have heard, Wilk getting a front loaded contract is self defeating for a team that has a ton of cap space and many holes, it's the economics class of the blind. You have a player that good, you put some numbers up then but you stagger three years and put the rest late, he is good enough that you can late load numbers. Front load him and an agent well be taking to reporters two years from now, it's idiotic. I think you thought you had a good idea but I don't think you understand economics

I am over him. If we don't sign him so be it, but if one of the best corners to ever play the game hits the open market and we have a chance to bring him back, I'm doing it.

You don't think Maxwell is going to be seeking a huge deal then you are crazy. He is the top FA CB available, coming off a solid year. Overpaying is the name of the game in the free agent market. Cromartie will also be looking for one more big payday, as he has said himself. Just because he wants to come back here badly doesn't mean he is going to accept peanuts.
