Pretty soon he's going to be throwing like Johnny Damon. Look at his throws as the season went on. It is as if he's putting every ounce of force he has in his body just to throw it 10yards. Sent from my LG-LS720 using Tapatalk
He'd be a good guy for a motivated young qb willing to watch and learn, learn how to be a pro's pro from.
Forty year old Peyton Manning would lead us to the playoffs.. he's not coming here, but I'd definitely like him as a Stop Gap QB.
At the same time do all those players want to come back if he's not there? They have a lot of older players and big contracts on that team. If they were to rebuild they'd need to completely blow it up and I doubt the Thomas' want to sacrifice some of their prime to a rebuilding project. It's a tough conundrum really. As a Jets fan how could you not want him? He'd stabilize the quarterback position for at least a couple years while Geno and hopefully a drafted quarterback figure out if they're NFL players or not. At the same time I highly doubt he'd come. He's turned us down twice and wouldn't want the Manning city bull crap with Eli right next door. His best bet if cut is to take the LeBron route and take less money to go to a team that's built and just waiting for a quarterback. As someone mentioned; Houston, San Francisco, maybe Arizona or St. Louis... the problem is 3 of those teams play the Seahawks twice a year.
Peyton Manning and Buffalo would be like suicide. I'm more worried about Miami giving him a 2 year deal.
the difference would be we wouldn't have to cut a good QB to get Manning like we did w/ Favre. Peyton isn't coming here but hypothetically if he was available and would be open to play here for a year or 2 I'd certainly take it b/c we don't have any QBs. I do think he goes back to Denver and he'll play well in the regular season as he always does.
If he can still play, the Broncos would be pretty dumb to do this. Might as well squeeze another year of 11-13 wins and hope things bounce your way this time in the playoffs and that he can stay healthy. What good is winning 6 or 7 games with Osweiler even if he shows some promise? If you in theory have a championship caliber team, you squeeze every season you can out of it before rebuilding. I have little doubt that Elway will take Peyton back though. He was arrogant and casual when it came to Tebow, but this ain't Tebow we are talking about.
I heard this on Espn also,Regardless why in Gods name would Peyton Manning want to come here.....Unless we offered him some crazy amount of money I don't think he's looking for another payday I think he wants to go somewhere where he has one last real shot at a championship. We are years away possibly even decades
I'll second what others have said regarding Houston as his best landing spot, with Buffalo being a viable, although unlikely second choice. Don't really see anything beyond that unless Miami pulls the plug.
Texans would be a good fit for him. Might not have stellar offensive tools but the D is pretty damn good. Only the Colts to provide a divisional challenge, nice weather and a match-up against the NFC South, Us/Bills and Fins, Bengals, Chiefs and he gets Brady at home. Would need to free up some cap tho'
I really couldn't care less about Manning or the Broncos, but at some point the Broncos are going to be in the position that Green Bay was with Favre and the Colts were with Manning. There's a time to move along to the new quarterbacks and Luck and Rogers did a pretty good job picking up where the others left off. The Broncos, for the most part, are a one trick pony with Manning and they're going to need to reinvent themselves...more sooner than later.
Will HE want to play for the Jets? Consider that first. I am positive that he hates the Jets too. [Parcells snub should be in his mind still.]
What bandwagon are you eyeing for when Brady is done? He'll be 38 when the season begins so he's probably not far behind Manning. Especially now that he'll be required to use fully inflated balls every week like the rest of the league. You might want to get fitted for your Russel Wilson jersey more sooner than later.
I expect Brady to operate at the level he does for about good 4-5 years from now, if not more. 1. His OL does what they are asked to do, and that is to keep Brady upright. Most of the time anyway. 2. Patriots offensive scheme does not require Brady to do anything physically taxing. He rarely rips one in tight window for all we know. The deep balls he throws - usually go to the sideline over fade route, which Gronk grabs easily over puny little DBs. 3. Patriots offense have retooled themselves lately - they run more than they did about 3-4 years ago. Still this is a flawed team, but once they get a lead, it will be a very hard team to beat.
4-5 years? if not more!??! He's going to be lighting up the league at age 43+? You really think that?
