Glad he helped clear up the cap space and make that Revis trade, but at the end of the day - his selections in the draft were pretty bad. Awful talent evaluator.
not enough time to see the talent develop, but enough time to find out how good he is at eyeing talent.
"Detrimental to the team?" Yeah because 4 - 10 is something everybody wants to see repeated. Some guys have very low expectations.
you cannot allow fans to dictate hirings and firings. fans are fans, they are emotional and most don't have a clue. The best organizations don't listen to their fans except about silly things like concessions at the stadium or stadium experience.
Of course you can't let customers dictate hiring and firing. Customers are customers, if they are unhappy with goods and services, the company loses money. Any good company not only listens to their customers, they benchmark the customer service attitudes of the best. Professional sports is no different.
It is very different w/ pro sports. An example in our area. Giant fans desperately wanted Eli and Coughlin gone after 2006 and again after 2010. I hate the Giants but I tip my cap in that they don't allow the fans to dictate what they are going to do.
Yea will see how it works out,let me know how Giants fans and ownership feel after Coughlins 80 and they haven't seen the playoffs in 4 years.Coughlins done if they miss the playoffs this year that's a def
man keep defending your right to freedom of speech and no-one elses. And no one can say if the billboard or the planes forced woody into the move. Only woody can say that and as far as I know he never alluded to that. people don't like the perception that the billboard and the plane made the change, but that may not be the answer. it may just be 4 and freaking 10 with a disaster at qb poor picks and limited free agent signings and leaving 20 million in cap space when you had a chance to fix somethings did idzick in? Like I said the saints fans and the dolphin fans did something similar and yet people are not talking about that? the only people who are bringing up the billboard now are idzick fans who feel he got shafted. Perception is everything, but in reality idziks poor performance cost fans a yr and money , and the coaching staff their job. That is the fact.
You don't get it; I'm not at all surprised. NFL is a business that operates like any other business. Owners and management listen to their customers; that does not mean that they make all the decisions their customers want - no business does. Customer demands must still fit into the business model of a given company and while they should always be considered can never dictate policy. If there were websites, billboards and demonstrations outside of every McDonalds calling for Kobe beef burgers, management would consider their options for a higher grade burger but absolutely never put a Kobe burger on the menu in the US for at least two reasons. There is no Japanese beef imported into the US and if there was, a burger would cost twenty bucks. You're not getting a 99 cent burger at MetLife either - doesn't fit the business model.
And he'll be done for lack of performance and failure to meet goals, not in response to websites and demonstrations.
The Giants have made 1 postseason since 2009. 5 of 6 years missing. If Coughlin is done this year he will have been w/ NYG over 10 years and won 2 SBs, if they got rod of him when Giant fans wanted to they wouldn't have either of their last 2 SBs.
Yea well I wanted Rex to come back I also never wanted us to fire MR T.I bet if we kept Sanchez,Mr T,Rex and Shotty we would have been in the playoffs the last two years. There's way to much change within the orginization from year to year you don't win that way no team does
You or I could had cleaned that cap up. Let be real here all those cuts no matter who came in was going to happen. So sorry I don't give him that much credit for the cap.
I think since these guys are highly respected around the league we'll give them time to build. Mac will be here much longer than Idzik was, assuming he has a clue what he's doing.
