Who cares about Bellichump? That doesn't address the shortcomings in big spots, the dumb penalties, the fact that the blitzes stopped working about week 7 of his rookie year. Top head coaches don't go through seasons like we have the last 3 seasons. He's an average to good HC and a good to great DC but he is far from elite in either of those positions.

I respect posters like nyjunc but I don't get how ANY Jets fan can be a current Rex supporter. Then watching this presser it proves he is who he always has been. A JOKE. He has to win in 2015 or the Bills will be nothing. Coz asked how can he not be considered mediocre with 4 straight non-winning seasons and his response is he is not mediocre. He is such a loser. Literally all talk. How can any fan want that?

Led team to 2 title games then talent started disappearing. top hcs usually have a top QB, rex has done it without top QB

Wouldn't be Rex if he didn't talk about how great he is....

I like Rex but the bottom line is his act wore thin and it got to a point that you could see he just didn't care about the offense, he treated it like it was someone else's job and was satisfied with them being below average as long as his defense was good. The sad thing is his defenses were good but they were far... and I mean very far from elite.

I think his defense could be good next but he needs to start winning again in order to justify the talk. If he can get the Bills to the playoffs, it would go along way for him in Buffalo.

Again, like someone said, had more to do with going 8-8 and then 6-10 then it did to Tanny being fired. Rex had to behave to keep his job. He should have been fired after 2012. Woody messed up by not cleaning house.
There actually is ALOT of doubt. They don't have a quarterback and are in the AFC East.

Talent disappeared? Talent disappears all the time from many teams such as the Pats, Steelers, Ravens and Packers yet their coaches seem to overcome it. Sure they may have a down year every now and then but their coaches find ways to win without excuses.

And despite having 2 1st round picks in the DL, 2 1sts at the LB a high 2nd a 3rd as well as a 4 1st rounders at CB and another t safety his defenses were never elite. For as much as you can say that Bellichump relied on Brady it's also quite clear that Rex relied on Revis because without him the D was never as good as they were those 1st 2 years despite adding numerous 1st round picks to it.

Anyone else a little disturbed that fans take a man's word over cold hard results? People can't be that stupid, right?

You are crazy. They have some major issues on the offensive side of the ball.

Rex is funny though, promising a playoff berth his first yr.

It's just funny to see bills fans being so excited by this. They're so starved for attention.

Rex was fired from the Jets, deservingly so IMO. It doesn't matter if he will get Bill to PO every years. It doesn't matter if Rex's tenure will be the best tenure from now and into eternity wherever he goes.
Rex did not work out HERE, for whatever reason -- this is all that matters.

Just because he MIGHT be a good hire for Bills, doesn't cancel that he was NOT a good coach here.
