wasn't in interesting how we never had success early in games and didn't start having success until they threw away the playbook and Vinny was calling plays in the 2 min drill?
Those stats seem fairly well organized and easy to read to me. As for "actually talking football"? I already expressed my opinion on the personnel and statistical similarities ...
Idk.. maybe, idk. I don't remember plays or play calling that specifically from that long ago. This thread is about the new OC and I don't care to have a long debate with you about the team from 15 years ago. I'm not even the biggest Henning guy anyway I will just say a funny story from the midnight miracle they told recently prior to this year's miami MNF game. Vinny & the offense ran so many passing plays on the fly that they ran out of new plays completely and just ran the same plays over and over just flipped to the other side and back again. That is too awesome
Yeah that's some really hard hitting analysis. It's basically a non stat jumbled explanation of stats, plus a vague mention of roster similarities which has no bearing on the actual offense run. Gailey and Schotty ran offenses that can only be closely compared with stats by people who don't understand actual offensive scheming and strategy.
Believe me he exposed it. We were avg around 30+ points per game until that Jets game..........Rex held us to 11 points and the following week his brother held us to 10. After that Jets game we went from avg 30+ points per game to under 20.
Just to be clear ... you're claiming the 1996 Mike Tomczak/Jerome Bettis Steelers were running the spread? HINT: Here's your opportunity to backtrack.
Bills fan here- You guys got a solid OC. I wouldn't stress it. He took Fitz and made him good enough to get a long term deal. He will spread em out and give Geno the chance to make plays. You won't be ground in pound anymore, but Chan is a creative run game guy as well. He is also a master of the screen, the guy knew how to use CJ. Marrona had no clue. He is also good at developing QB's which is probably the main reason you got him. Plus he is a gentleman and the players will respect him.
man what an alternate universe this is.. A Bills fan propping up the coaching skills of Rex Ryan against Jets fans propping up the coaching skills of Chan Gailey.
Thank you for providing us with much needed facts and football insight on an unbiased basis. Oh what refreshing that is. Come back to this board anytime, and please root for the Jets, at least against NE.
I don't mind Duke Johnson, but I'm not going to rule out Spiller because of 1 player in the draft. He might not even be available. I think of the times CJ Spiller running past our vaulted D and to me he's def a FA target. Could be cheap.
LOL - now that is funny right there! Bills fan here and the only thing that would have been funnier is Marrone to the Jets.
For cheap, absolutely. Spiller had his best year under Gailey so the tandem would be promising, but Spiller may also WANT to play for Gailey.
No sense in agreeing or disagreeing. I'll wait and hope for the best. But f_ck up and the fans will be on it like a...
