He just signed an extension that took him through 2016 and was due like 11 million dollars. Getting fired you still get paid, He is not receiving compensation because it was a mutual decision. Bottom line is he wants no part of a rebuild. He is not the coach for that. Broncos don't want him for a rebuild.
He won't! I would take him in a heartbeat, but he could have let them fire him and get paid millions, he didn't give that up to come here.
Dude had Peyton Manning and one of the best offenses in a while and couldn't win shit. How is he supposed to win with a broken team like the Jets? Answer: he can't.
@AdamSchefter: John Fox declined HC interview with Jets, per NFL source. Hard to imagine turning down one HC chance unless there's real chance for another.
Fox is a good head coach. He's a little too conservative imo but he wins a lot of games. Bill Belichick is the best coach in the game and hasn't won shit in over a decade with Tom Brady. It's not easy but winning the division is a good starting point.
I just read an article about it in the Denver Post online. It was Elway's idea. Fox was still on a contract.
I just find him to be overrated overall as a Head Coach. He's been out-coached numerous times in big games. He's got a good record as a regular season HC. He took that Panthers team to the SB back in the day, he made some pretty awful decisions including ill-advised 2pt conversion attempts. He also mis-managed the clock and gave the Pats more time. Biggest game of the year - you don't shit the bucket - Fox has done this numerous times. Both SBs.
Last three seasons, he went 38-10. I'm going to say that the record has more to do with having one of the best QBs to ever play the game on his team than his coaching. The year before that, he barely went 8-8 with a damn good defense.
They said on Espn or Nbcsn that Fox's best friend in football is Sean Payton. And the new Besrs GM is from the Saints and tight with Payton.
