Mort said it on NFL Insiders, but later did a report of the own that it is still up in the air....seems like any of the known candidates will continue run first boring football
Wow ... that's a great list. Or a terrible one. I never stopped to think about how many there were. Honorable Mention ... Going into the 1996 draft we were starving for wideouts with only one NFL caliber receiver on our entire roster (Chrebet), and two picks in the top 31. First pick was Keyshawn ... fine. Then we use pick #31 to take another desperately needed WR --- Alex Van Dyke (Who???). The Giants grab Amani Toomer three picks later, and he becomes their All-Time Franchise Leader in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TD's. To add a little salt to the wound, Terrell Owens goes in round three of that draft at #89. Alex Fucking Van Dyke with pick #31 ... sigh
You do realize that he may still be better for the Jets at this point in time even if he's not better coach than Rex, right?
alex van dyke- his only memorable moment was fumbling late in the 1998 championship game at Denver to end any hopes we had of coming back.
"If I see two or more fucking penalties out there the rest of the game, I am going to bitch smack you all to where you came from. Are we clear?"
"“The guy laughing right now is (Patriots head coach) Bill Belichick. Bill Belichick is saying, ‘Wait a second. We dominate this division and they’re gonna swap coaches on the teams that finish behind us every year?’ … Think about that for a second! What must they be thinking in New England?” ~Francesca on Marrone and Rex He's right....hate him.....but he's right Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That fat piece of shit has a obvious point. Fuck him, but he has a point. Swapping coaches won't happen though
Create synergy between head coach, front office, and talent to win more often than not. It is a bigger example of the synergy required from offense, defense, and special teams. I want people here who are going to give us that synergy, I don't care which side of the ball they come from.
Here's what I've learned. Jim Schwartz won 9 games and Doug Marrone lost 7 games for the Bills last year.
One of his old assistants has joined the Marrone bashing... @CuseChris: Bob Casullo on Marrone: "Selfish, self-centered, greedy. Other than that, I'll sit here and mind my business." Bob is on @ESPNSYRACUSE now. @CuseChris: Casullo (former Marrone assistant): "He preaches family, but there's only one family he cares about, and it's not the assistants." @CuseChris: "It's always been the same. He took his four million and walked out. It's about greed."
except Rex's teams gave BB's teams fits and in the biggest game every played btw the 2 teams Rex's team whipped BB's Pats. BB can be cocky b/c he has Brady but Rex in charge of that Buffalo D and I guarantee you BB is nervous.
....add to that this report that Fred Jackson, "a team captain and one of the Bills' most tenured players", said that "Marrone handled exit wrong"..."Any time you get a text message saying that it's happening, you feel like you got punched in the stomach," Jackson said during his weekly appearance on WGR 550 in Buffalo. "I mean, stuff could have been handled different..." http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...s-doug-marrone-exit-left-buffalo-bills-jilted What a cowardly thing to do, not even to tell your players or assistants in person, just all of a sudden disappear with nothing more than a text message...like someone else said, he'd never be able to handle the NY media with that kind of lack of social graces, to put it mildly...
Parcells to the Jets leaked in-season 1996....he told "a source" that he wouldn't mind coaching the jets ...I'll never forget my friends telling me how crazy I was thinking he'd leave NE for the Jets Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I used to get all the preseason magazines in those days(they are useless now w/ the internet) and I remember one of them predicted BP was leaving NE and had the Jets as the #1 choice for him to go to. I remember how exciting that sounded and it actually came true but in true Jets fashion didn't last long and he didn't finish the job.
If Rex takes over the Bills (and I hope he does and Marrone is our ("our" meaning the Jets, Bills trolls- since last I heard it's still a Jets board) coach then Rex inherits s great D and of course will take the credit for it. But I'll take 4th and Marrone who has a 3-1 record over RR.
There is no doubt that Fred Jackson isn't right. Marrone shouldn't have group texted the team. Possibly he didn't a whole lot of time to contact them, things went down pretty fast but he should have spoken to them personally. But this other guy calling him greedy. Let's see if he takes the 4 million or for that matter anyone else. I would for sure. And I don't always punt on 4th down.
