http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...e-sammy-watkins-draft-day-trade-buffalo-bills Marrone looked to be the only one worth 1/2 a brain in that room.
They could have stayed put and had Beckham Jr and a 1st round pick this year. Funny how things work out.
I think the deal with him is done and has been. I think they are trying to find a GM that will match.
You say it once and maybe twice but you've made your point. You and a few other guys are bashing anyone who disagrees with you and on our board. And probably stuffing the ballot box on our poll. You shouldn't be allowed to vote. Just like at Met Life in Oct. Bills fans bought up blocks of seats and in our house made fun of our pathetic team. Buff was a blur in my eyes before that (just a place on the map I knew I'd never go to) but now a true enemy of my beloved NYJ. (but after two teams I HATE even more, Belichick and the Fins)
Well I'm not aware of all their travel arrangements but seems like many of the interviews were scheduled before Marrone even became available so they would obviously still maintain those appointments. Plus they still have to get the GM situation sorted out. Even if they are flying around to interview some additional coaches it doesn't mean their mind hasn't been made up, they still have to do their due diligence.
Hmmm, this whole Marrone and Bills story starts to be interesting, as I've read an article (it was written in last year), where Bills GM Doug Whaley mentioned, he was integral part of drafting EJ Manuel and he handled the draft board. Or was Manuel Nix's pick and Marrone didn't have any say? :/
It doesn't matter whether Marrone hires Hackett or not. Hackett's O is really Marrone's O. If anyone thinks the clusterfck that was the Bills O is all on Hackett they are sorely mistaken. In fact, who knows, maybe Hackett would be good, or at least better, were he not doing his bosses' bidding.
I agree...this whole thing doesn't pass the "smell" test. Woody is 100% absolutely going to screw this up. I have to say it...and you've heard it here first. If this is the case then I've kind of reached my end...with the available talent out there (Kubiak etc...) if the NY Jets have done this then I may just have to mail in my Jets card. If this is all the "dream team" of Casserly and Wolf can come up with...or worse yet, Woody ignores their advice and goes on his own...then I throw my hands up and will have to move on.
What wounds. Every Billsfan I know is deliriously happy Doug is gone. I hope those guys don't hire Kubiak because with Schwartz's D and Kubiak designing their O and play calling they could be pretty good next year.
Buffalo fans have a real problem when people leave... They are very loyal to those there but for some reason feel the need to trash them once they leave. It's fickle. Every fan base is fickle but they are worse than most. It's a losers mentality. It goes back years. When Stevie Johnson was there god forbid jets fans say anything bad about him... He gets traded to San Fran and you have bills fans out the woodwork trashing him. They trashed Marshawn Lynch when buffalo traded him "he's a headache... He's overrated anyway" we all know the narrative. And I'm sure they were "warning" Seattle fans at the time. Why do they feel the need to do such things? We all know the pros and cons of Marrone here. Jets fans are obviously very conflicted about his potential hire. Why can't bills losers shut the fuck up? If he's the worst coach ever then they should just be happy.. They need a coach there now. Hire Rex Ryan for all I care. Good luck with that. The last thing I would ever do would stoop to the pathetic level where I would go to a bills fans site and trash Rex Ryan to them. Losers. I was against Marrone but now that it appears it struck a nerve that he left with losers and dumbasses from that fanbase I am actually a little more intrigued and encouraged by his potential hire.
La Canfora reports that Marrone and Maccagnan can be hired by end of the week. (it is interesting as I know Maccagnan will interview tomorrow with us)
I feel like I'm living at the base of Mount Vesuvius and there's a plume of smoke in the air. Oh well, two more years then rinse and repeat.
Well said Can....except for the Rinse and Repeat part. This particular Jets fan has come close to the end of his rope....
True. If they were going to move up it should have been to move back into the first to pick Bridgewater and get the QB they need. They couldn't do that cause they were still all in on the EJ bust. I do give Marrone credit for seeing through that and benching the guy.
That's actually pretty encouraging. It shows that at least he get's it. Can't say that for the Bills personal people. Also helps discredit the noise that he just quit. If he was not on board with that trade, which may just set back that franchise a couple years and really hinder your chances to do your job I would be pissed. Can't hold it against him to want a little more security.
