Both completely unproven, and under this logic Jim Schwartz should be a top canidate because he did a superb job with the Lions defense....

Im not sold on Quinn or Bowles, its a gamble, but it always is a gamble I guess.

Great coaches have to start somewhere...it's risky...if it ends up being Marrone, please hire Schwartz, he's a great defensive mind

It's hard for me to choose because I want a HC who can manage all three facets of the team.

I know who I dont want, Bowles and Cable. I can't say for sure who gets my vote, I don't know enough about the rest to make a decision.

Honestly, I think the jets will select either Kubiak or Marrone.

out of this bunch i'd probably go Quinn or Bowles, but i'm underwhelmed either way.

how about Mike Shanahan? heard he was interviewing in SF, so he's on the market.
had a terrible run in Washington, but i think he's still got some good coaching in him. plenty of experience....we'd just need to find a good DC.

quinn is the best guy on that list, but if you're going to kick the tires on kubiak, you might as well interview both shanahans.

especially if you are thinking about bringing in jay cutler as the hold-the-fort guy.

I don't care who we bring in. My hope is we give whoever it is, the talent and time to succeed.

Cable isn't horrendous. I don't know about this wife beating stuff. Wasn't that a long time ago and not a terrible incident. He won't get it but if he does he might surprise everyone and do a good job. He won't complain to the press surreptitiously if he doesn't get a cover corner or a player he likes. He'll just work through it.

I wasn't referring to his wife, an Al Davis poor choice as coach, probably a good oline coach

Buffalo has joined in along with SF, on setting up the Shanahan interview.
wonder why we haven't considered yet? certainly worth an interview.

my main concern with Shanahan is his propensity for smaller athletic Olineman.
i prefer big uglies, and don't necessarily want to find an entire new line.

Didn't he win two SB with the zone blocking scheme, using smaller oline?

However I do agree with having to comeup with a new line, but brick and mangold have proven they could adapt to any scheme.
