I'm telling you guys, Marrone is a case of buyer beware. Schwartz fielded that defense and got the credit he rightfully deserved. This isn't a knock on the Jets, but Marrone doesn't coach against the Jets every week, and the Packers won't play every game against the Bills with 7 dropped passes. And then after that, lay a complete egg against the Raiders to kill playoff chances.
Yea whatever ,your first winning season since 2004 with Kyle Orton at QB and your talking shit about Marrone that's 10 years without a winning record.I was thinking you guys were finally onto something up there I'm glad to see it explode
Marrone may just be the best candidate out there, but it's not very exciting. ultra conservative, no passion, no flavor to him as a coach. like khao. it would be a bland choice. maybe he improves our offensive line?
Interview him on Woody's plane tonight and have him sign in the limousine on the way to the press conference. I willing to take a flyer on him, especially since he's a homeboy from Throgs Neck.
We got that winning record because of our defense. I realize you don't watch any Bills games, and with the offense we fielded, hell we didn't want to watch Bills games at times. And that's the point I'm trying to make with you. His offense went from at best barely average in 2013 to a complete flop in 2014. Damn a bunch of 9-7. That was solely a case of Marrone going to the well one time too many trying to ride the defense out to a win.
Oh wow, if that's what you're expecting out of Marrone, you really need to go back and watch the games the Bills played that wasn't against the Jets (no offense). Our O line was a disaster from start to finish.
ah, i see. Marrone is the anti rex, so everybody wants him here, because being the opposite of the last guy equals automatic success…
When you look at the other candidates available Marrone is def at the top of the list atleast for us anyway.I wouldn't be surprised to see Jim Shwartz become your new Head Coach
This has already been mentioned a couple of times in the thread, but it bares repeating with a little clarity: The opt out was allowed as soon as the team was sold, according to his deal. Marrone opted out AND KEPT HIS SALARY. That's some boss-level isht right there. We're not talking simply opting out of his 2015 contract, we're talking opting out of 2015, while still getting paid for 2015. And getting to double-dip on another salary on top of that in a better job. That's an incredibly negotiated contract considering the team sale wasn't exactly a long shot.
I guess winning playoff games and having your QB play pretty well in championship games is not success huh? Its ashame Sanchez couldnt play as well as Ben Roethlisbergers, 10/19 133 yards 0 TDs, 2 int But its all about the QB huh?
No complains for me about Marrone. In theory, his offense should be exciting. If he were to come on board, then we would need a GM that will work with him, and get players that fit his scheme. With Gamble being on the market, maybe he'd be a decent fit for the job? TL;DR: No problem with Marrone.
Yeah, I can somewhat agree with your thoughts on other candidates. But if the Bills going 9-7 is what makes Marrone a top candidate, then everything else needs to be looked at aside from his final record. And I'm being realistic here, not trying to be an asshole. Believe me, if I were, I'd be sending Christmas cards to Woody Johnson from now til rapture
I felt like Marrone made advances/improvements as a head coach while Philbin has shown nothing to me, and has not shown any improvements. The past two seasons, the Dolphins should have been able to produce at least one postseason berth, they didn't though.
