The same could easily be said about Geno Smith.

Ok so apparently Marrone asked the new owners for an extension and they refused. And he still gets 4 million even though he opted out of the contract. Rumors that Frank Reich current Chargers OC could be next Bills HC. And what about Jim Schwartz. Rex? I doubt they'd want to be on the short end of an AFC East HC swap. Can you blame them.

What I like about hiring him is that he knows the division above anything else, get it done Woody before we get stuck with Tom Cable

I'm guessing Marrone would bring Schwartz here.

he would be a good dc but the bills would have to fire him or ok a lateral move to a division rival. if he was only on a one year deal than obviously what I said doesn't apply.

Geno Smith is just as bad as Sanchez. Arguably worse. However, you are legitimately splitting hairs here because the 2 are legitimately 2 of the worst qb's in the NFL.

    Three things.

First, Pat Kirwan on Sirius NFL Radio just said about an hour ago that when Doug Marrone enters a room, he becomes the smartest guy in that room. That is not faint praise. He turned an awful situation in Buffalo this year into a winning season. Yes, he was conservative on offense, but what did he have to work with? Manuel, Orton, Watkins, Chandler, a slew of RB injuries, and a questionable OL. I would be conservative too with that personnel. That offense makes the Jets look loaded.

Second, how can anyone in their right mind think Buffalo is better off than the Jets? It's not even close. Buffalo has no QB, no #1 Draft pick, no talent on offense outside of Watkins, a new owner, a crappy stadium, is in a small market, and the front office is in disarray. I would run to the Jets too.

Third, Jets fans are a rare breed. Ryan coaches 6 years, averages about 7 wins a season, the Jets get worse almost every year while he is here, the offense is a joke every year, the defense is fading (a Ryan trait- Rob and Rex both), and can't develop a QB to save his life. But it is tragedy that he is gone. Then you look at what is out there as far as coaches go and it is underwhelming. I don't want Kubiak. Cable is a time bomb. Bowles is a younger Ryan who knows nothing about offense and is still green. Quinn is the best candidate, and he appears to be a younger Ryan whose success may have more to do with the players he coaches than him. None of the top college coaches want to go to the NFL this year.

Marrone has HC experience and did a pretty good job turing the Bills around. And he plays NE tough. What is not to like about this situation? The Jets were not bringing in Gruden or Harbaugh or Cowher (don't want him). I think Marrone is a good choice.

Well said man. It's nuts that anyone doesn't want the dude. He instantly became the best candidate once he opted out (since Harbaugh did the retarded thing and decided to go coach college football).

Really??? Ryan and Sanchez put the Bills over the top???? Sanchez was handed the keys to a Ferrari this season and drove it like a Chevy. The best offensive system with the best offensive mind in the NFL and he was still a turnover machine. 15 TDs and 14 turnovers. Ryan coaches like he never learns anything from game to game and year to year. I want what you are smoking.

Well said other then the fact that you left out Rexs first two years,A lot of Jet fans held onto that and new he could do it again and kept beliving in him to a fault. It clouded our judgement on him
