If a moderator could edit this title and add "Poll:…" in the beginning of it, it would be greatly appreciated:)

Id take him just for the reason that he'd be the first coach since Parcells who wouldnt be training on the job

Doug Marrone? Woody if you're reading this thread you're a fucking asshole and this would be just another trash decision settling for mediocrity.

    Classic Jets.

I tell ya, I may sound like an ass, and may get flamed, but I've admired the guy fro afar, he's a tough as shit, get in the players face kinda couch who comes across as decisive, and had had very reasonable results with the Bills. He's not one of the new "sexy names" where often overrated.... Get him...

Dougy is from Da Bwonx, I bet he brings Westoff back to the Jets.

It's an upgrade over Rex, just get over it.

When I evaluated Philbin and Marrone I gave Marrone the edge. He seems to be on the upswing while Philbin didnt impress me.

Now would I want Marrone as our head coach? its tough, because it goes back to the huge elephant in the room....who is our damn QB?

And would Marrone draft ANOTHER Florida State QB?....I believe in Winston but does Marrone?

And this my friend is why you don't fire a good head coach when you have one. Because then you're in a situation where Doug Marrone is your best option.

I'm still not completely sure what to think about him, but Adam Schefter's take has made me cautiously optimistic. He said this before Marrone opted out:

Marrone is obviously the next coach of the Jets. You don't leave a current position unless you have one lined up (and with his ties here, he is clearly the next coach). I think he will be a great hire (he did a very good job with the Bills this year), and am looking forward to having him back.

Pretty exciting night to be a Jets fan imo.

Jets fans only want Vince Lombardi or tom Landry as their head coach, but those two guys are dead so jets fans will never be happy
