Even though we didn't win the big one , Rex brought us as close as possible . For six seasons , it was easy to root for Rex . He had the players backs (sometimes to a fault) . Good luck in your next coaching job . Now , time for a fuckin snack .

Yeah this may have been the right move, but I'm gonna miss him regardless.

Will always remember those back-to-back AFC championship game appearances. Only time in my life as a Jets' fan that I have been able to walk around NYC with my head held high...and it gave me a taste of how amazing this city is when the Jets are the talk of the town (and the Giants are irrelevant :p .)

Best of luck Rex...I'm sure he will be part of a championship team some day.

I hope he goes to an NFC team so I have another team to "cheer" for outside of one game every four years.

Never enjoyed myself more as a Jet fan honestly. Even when I knew we were terrible, I believed we could win any game we walked into. And that's what Rex instilled in his players as well. It may have been time, but he was the best head coach available for this team. Ill always cheer for Rex, especially when he wins his first ring.

I wasn't a Ryan guy for the last few years but I don't wish him anything but the best. It was time for him and the team to move on as I think he took these Jets as far as he could. He's still evolving as a HC and one day, he'll be at a Superbowl on the sidelines coaching some future team. For now, I hope he takes some time off. No real need to go right back to work as I'm pretty sure he's not hurtin for cash.

Thanks for the memories, now just go have a GD Snack Rex!

Rex is the type of coach where he needs to win in order to be tolerated. Once he started losing his act wore very thin.

Though this was the right move, Rex will be missed. Never had more fun watching this team, even through the rough patches of this season, than the last six years.

As I will always say, I will have more positive memories of Rex than negative ones.

I can't see another team hiring him off of a 4-12. What do they say to their fans. The guys a great coach when they saw the team under perform for a good chunk of six years. And then there's the circus atmosphere. Could be that's why Ozzie Newsome didn't hire him even though Ravens players wanted him to hire Rex. This will always be there. And using the press to leak his side of a story. Does any organization want to deal with that. A Head coach who has the press in the palm of his hand and uses them when things go south. Most great head coaches are not buddies with their players.

I will definitely miss him but he needs to improve as a head coach if he wants to be a consistent winner.

I said the same shit with Sanchez that I've been saying about Rex for years. I said for the last few years on here that Sanchez was a career backup and was proven true. I've been saying Ryan is a top DC forever now. He'll either be a TV guy or DC next year but noone is hiring him as a HC for the 2015 season. Not the way he brought this franchise down over the last 4 years. Not happening, period.

    I bet you're wrong.

He's an instant upgrade for Atlanta and the Bears and many other teams, actually. It is more likely he ends up a DC first but there's absolutely a chance that he ends up a HC right away. Sort of like Mangini with the Browns.

Edit: Also, when does Rex use the press to leak his side of the story? I always thought that was Pettine.

We'll see. Why would you fire a guy whose won five games for a guy who won four games. Another prediction: he won't be very good on TV either. It's a different story. He was great being interviewed. Now he has to ask the questions.
