When the JETS have a legit #1 like Dez Bryant on the outside and a DeMarco Murray in the backfield, then they can go O-Line in the first.

It may be hard for Jets fans to comprehend because we have been devoid in those 2 positions for a long time.
But RB and WR are two of the easiest positions to fill in the NFL and it is extremely rare that a player in either of those positions is worth spending a pick that high on.
And on the contrary a stud OT is taken almost every year in the top 5.

Our last 2 O line first rounders have been the anchors of our line for a long time now.

There is no nasty Franchise LT in this draft. If WR was so easy for the JETS to address, why did they draft 3 three guys and they all did absolutely nothing. Highly drafted WRs in the top half of the first round the last few years have all been immediate contributors to their teams. The JETS don't want to end up with a Eric Fisher or Luke Joeckel if Armari Cooper is there when they are picking 6th.

The JETS O-Line is not an issue like other teams. Truthfully, D-Brick at LT, Aboushi at LG, Mangold at C, move Breno to RG like he was for the Seahawks last year, and draft a guy in the second round or third round to play RT like La'el Collins from LSU or Daryl Williams from Oklahoma.

when we were slotted at 4 the whiners were wiping their pussies because any pick out of the top 3 was a loser pick. at 6, those same pussies are whining we aren't at 4.

if we had the second pick they'd be crying it isn't number 1. if we had the number 1 pick those same assholes would be whining that having number 1 the year before or the year after would be better and this year's top players aren't franchise changing players.

Decker, Harvin, Kerley, Amaro, Powell is not a bad group of skill players. We need to shore up the oline. Brick is getting older we need to draft and develop his replacement.

Might as well trade down at this point.

Not sure there's s market for the sixth pick unless a player somebody likes is available. Even then all you'd probably get is the value on the draft value chart. But the numbers are pretty big for those higher picks in terms of the difference between a 6 and a 12, etc. The value of the 6th overall is 1600. If we trade back and get the 12th overall which is 1200 we should get the 400 difference which translates to the 18th pick of the 2nd round.

Yea, the list of number 6 picks on the drafthistory website is depressing. I tried to post a link but it won't let me. Rather infuriating, actually.

At least we have a lot of cap space and a new everything to look forward too.

As it stands right now for the top 10 picks for the Draft...

    1) Tampa Bay Bucs
    2) Tennessee Titans
    3) Jacksonville Jaguars
    4) Oakland Raiders
    5) Washington Redskins
    6) New York Jets
    7) Chicago Bears
    8) Atlanta Falcons
    9) New York Giants
    10) St. Louis Rams

Out of all the teams in the top 5 let alone the top 10, only the Raiders could possibly go after Cooper at 4 but are more likely to go after a young defensive lineman since they have a lot of old bodies upfront. The JETS don't have a #1 target and that is what Cooper is at 6'1 210 with his ability to run great routes and separate against defenders.

If the draft was today, I could see the first five picks being: QB, QB, DL, DL, OL, and the JETS taking Cooper at WR with the 6th pick to solidify their offense which will allow Decker too excel against #2 corners.

There's a long road between now and the draft. I'm not sure more than 3 of the top 6 players at the moment will even go in the top 10. I'm guessing the Jets will have a player on the 6 they want. Hopefully not a reach who should have dropped out of the top 10.
