Best thing that could happen is not being in a position to draft the 2 overrated QBs or Cooper. Now we can get Scherff or possibly trade down for a team that wants a DE.
Why would that suck? Maybe we would actually get a player that means something instead of the last 19 we took.
It's December. It's a little early to tell how the draft will shake out. Maybe a guy like Winston will slip a lot; maybe everyone will simultaneously agree one of the tackles is elite or something. I don't know if it's super-informed but here's a December 2011 mock of the 2012 draft with Barkley at 6 and RG3 at 7.
looking like a playoff team today - better luck next year - happy golfing to the Jets, happy, healthy new year 2015 to everyone on this forum
Problem with these last 3-4 games that Geno has played well in is it's so much a repeat of Dec of 2013. Will this be enough to give the future brain trust some confidence to insert Smith as the incumbent starter for 2015? I have no idea what to make of it, but Geno does at least deserve to be given the chance. He needs good players around him - not the type to do it all on his own.
There is talent there. But no way you go into 2015 penciling him in as the starter. That happened last season after a good end to a mediocre year. But he's on the team. Don't give up on him yet.
The JETS do not need any D-Line help especially in the 1st round with a high draft pick smh. They only need to draft Amari Cooper with their first round pick and they will have a legit #1 target that knows how to get open with Decker making plays at the #2 spot and Kerley, Harvin, and Amaro rounding out the rest of the arsenal. If Cooper is not available when the JETS pick, the only person the JETS should even consider on DEFENSE is Landon Collins the Safety from Alabama if he declares.
This is a great starting point for fixing our offense. Just look at what an OL revamp did for the Cowboys.
endless examples of it too. Giants had a top 5 pick locked up and won like meaningless games went up to 13 and got OBJ
It's not depressing at all. Awesome game today. So they go from 4th to 6th. Big deal. The problem with too many on here is yo get fixated on one player, like that's the only player in the draft. Cooper can easily go 6th. And if he's that great, they can move up a spot. This years draft, Watkins was the can't miss. Anyone notice Beckham is better? 6th in this draft is a prime spot to be picking.
I'm less familiar with the OL names at the top of the draft order this year than in years past but, in general, if you are getting a potential pro-bowl OT that's hard to be upset about. It's not a flashy position like QB or WR or even a pass-rushing OLB/DE but it's an integral part of a good football team.
