leave it to this patriots fan asshole to come in here and say that...

Jets fans can disregard that - Belichick hates Casserly because he was VERY critical of him about spy gate.. He helped bring it to fruition and even made mention of it prior to the Mangini outting them. So Casserly was proven right about spy gate and Belichick has hated him ever since. His opinion on Casserly means nothing.. like asking an asshole's opinion on his enemy..and the reason they hate each other is even more reason for Jets fans to like Casserly.

in fact that quote above is Belichick popping off about Casserly calling him out over questionable injury reporting practices from Belichick.. something we all know Belichick NEVER does

From the guy who wants Idzik to get another 3 years in order to execute his 5 year plan.

Casserly is a respected football guy. He's not being hired to make the draft choices rather to pick the leadership. This is a huge upgrade from using the search firm Korn Ferry who's forte is selecting CFOs for Fortune 100 companies.

He said something similar about Rex this year too.

It's a consultant position. It could mean both stay and we just add another idiot to the "dream team"

No, it doesn't. The story is clear: Casserly comes on in a GM search consultant capacity.

I agree, it would make absolutely no sense at all to hire Casserly in any position unless Idzik is gone this time next week.

Casserly knows more about being a GM than anybody the Jets have had in the last 20 years..or more.

I don't remember exactly what was said but he felt that Idzik really did not provide Rex the tools to run his system and so it seemed like Casserly was really empathetic towards Rex and the state of the Jets.

Who exactly respects him? The NFL network, what organization has asked him to be a consultant before Woody?

He already comes in with a preconceived idea regarding Rex and Idzik based on his comments.

For the record, I don't want Idzik here for 3 more years, please stop putting words in my mouth, I stated that he should have gotten 1 more year with a HC of his choosing.

it doesn't sound like Casserly is going to be a part of the Idzik or Rex decision. In fact, I think he's only going to be here if both Rex and Idzik are gone.

I agree. The logic here is that this is a strong sign that Woodrow is getting rid of both Ryan and Idzik.

If Casserly is here to advise Woody, I have a pretty strong suspicion Idzik will be staying. No way Casserly would tell Woody to fire Idzik in year 2 of a rebuild heading into a year with tons of cap space and flexibility.

I have stated this many times, I would have liked to see Idzik choose his own HC, if it does not happen so be it.

If Rex survives anothe GM, complete personnel overhaul, 3 OC;...there is a problem here in jet land.

Maybe with a better QB they can get back to being competitive, but that remains to be seen.

Exactly. I'm only interested who he ultimately hires as GM and coach. Wake me up when that happens.

this is just a cowardly and bull shit move. Just make a decision on a new GM and Head coach like a man and move forward.

You think they are both going? I think Woody brought him in so Woody can fall back on Casserlys advise and say that he went with the recommendations of Casserly and keep rex.
