A good business owner welcomes feedback and we know the Jets have held focus groups to see how they're doing. This is just another path for feedback. A customer certainly has the right to tell a business owner what he thinks of the job an employee is doing.

If I have been a faithful customer of a restaurant for fifty years and the atmosphere, pricing, service and food is great but my dining experience is ruined by a new manager each time I come to the restaurant you can bet I'll tell the owner. This may cause the manager to be removed. Is it foolish? I say no.

He's the most important man in the world. He is a customer.

    WHAT IS A CUSTOMER?
A customer is the most important person in any business.

A customer is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him.

A customer is not an interruption of our work. He is the purpose of it.

A customer does us a favor when he comes in.

We aren't doing him a favor by waiting on him.

A customer is part of our business - not an outsider.

A customer is not just money in the cash register.

He is a human being with feelings and deserves to be treated with respect.

A customer is a person who comes to us with his needs and his wants.

It is our job to fill them.

A customer deserves the most courteous attention we can give him.

He is the lifeblood of this and every business. He pays your salary.

Without him we would have to close our doors. Don't ever forget it.

Fair argument. But let's put this analogy to work. I'd say Idzik's performance to date would be likened to a manager screwing up your order and not correcting the way you'd like. And I'd liken the billboard to you jumping on your table and trying to rally the other diners together to get this manager fired, not simply telling the owner as you stated. Tell me who sounds like they're being an asshole.

Sorry you missed the part where everyone who's ever met Rex say he's exactly the same no matter where he is or who he's talking to. What you see (and hear) is what you get.

I don't think it's naive to fully expect pubic consumption to happen behind closed doors. Rex has come a long way from a mere foot fetishist.

Brad...are you serious about the bolded part? You?

Where the fuck is this a threat? I mean, did these guys threaten his family or friends? Tanny was here and had many detractors during his tenure and nobody was calling for his head after 2 years.

There are a ton of Jet fans that think what this guy has done..and more importantly, NOT DONE...is a reason to fire him.

Many fans, like myself, are really worried that one more year of this guy pulling triggers on free agents and draft picks, can send this franchise back years. DO YOU REALIZE WHAT HE DID THIS YEAR? How he cost us the season before it even started? Were you not concerned before game 1...knowing deep down we had the worst secondary in the NFL? HE HAD 22 MILLION TO SPEND!

There have been many Jet coaches and GMS that have come through in the 45 years I have rooted for this team and what this guy did this year has infuriated me more then all of them combined. It was a blatant fuck the season move..fuck the HC move.

Nobody will ever post anything that will change my mind. 12 DRAFT PICKS...12. 22 Million....GMS around the league would jerk off at that opportunity.

Yeah. I missed that part. How did you manage to talk to "everyone who's (sic) ever met Rex?"

No, you're the one overworking the analogy. It's much more like posting on Chowhound that the new manager has ruined what was always an enjoyable experience or sending a letter to the owner. The propriety of a football stadium will not be disturbed by a plane flying over, a billboard down the road or towels being waved.

Only where "public consumption" and "behind closed doors" are not polar opposites does your statement make any sense whatsoever.

    Fuck you.

Cro, and Nacho are going to the playoffs.

At a combined 7 mil in salary.

This was a playoff team, Rex has gone to the linmit twice till Idzik bottomed him out over Geno Smith, and EGO.

Put the drugs down, man. You do recall how the Jets missed the playoffs 2 years in a row BEFORE Idzik came here? That team was terrible and getting worse. In 2013, we were pretty much guaranteed to miss the playoffs as well, because Tanny's terrible contracts were still coming off the books and he wouldn't have anything to spend before the season.

Now, in 2014, if Tanny was on board, he would've probably went on a spending splurge, went all in again, and most likely signed Revis and DRC to huge contracts in the offseason, spending whatever cap room freed up. Something like at least 12 million for Revis and 9-10 for DRC. With that secondary, we would have a much better defense this year, but we would still have nothing at QB (whether it's Sanchez or Geno or whatever washed up FA Tanny would've gotten), our offense would suck, because I don't see Tanny pulling off Harvin/Ivory trades, he might have signed Decker as well. Our O-Line wouldn't be very good either, because Brick is getting older no matter who the GM is, and Brandon Moore is retired.

So by going all in on the secondary, Tanny or a GM like him would've made us more competitive this year, but with no QB, declining offensive line, overpaid DRC and lack of offensive weapons, and our murderous schedule this year, it's still quite possible we miss the playoffs anyway, just with a better record, say 8-8 or 6-10. And if we make the playoffs, we get bounced by any decent team. So this is what you want to do, mortgage our future to be an average team this year?

If you ever watch/read interviews with successful people and/or try to get anything done in the real world, you'll realize that there is a lot of failure involved. Picking a QB in the NFL is like that. There are no guarantees unless you happen to be the Colts. So the fact that Geno didn't work out doesnt take credit away from Idzik for trying it. If you don't try, you'll never succeed.

I don't see it that way. I mean I am not talking about the Jaguars or Raiders or Browns here. 49ers and Dolphins are well run teams with proud histories and we've done better than them in Woody's years. To give Woody as much grief for being an incompetent owner as some people here do, they have to show how he's so bad, and the record just doesn't support that at all.

My god, man... The 49ers have been to the Super Bowl more times in the last 2 years than the Jets have in 35!!! Their combined record the last 3 years is 36-11-1 and they have a super bowl trip + 2 NFC championship games .. They won 12 games in '98, 12 in '01 and 10 in '03...

I have read some crazy things here but saying we have been more succesful than the 49ers since Woody got here is the definition of insanity

You glossed right over what I actually typed. My statement makes sense due to your statement on pubic consumption, not public consumption. Trying to find a little humor on this board for a change!

Not even close. Posting on chowhound is putting it in a place where people are looking for reviews. It's actually more like, well, putting up a billboard calling out the manager. Foolish, childish, and uncalled for. If he wants to make a point, then get a bunch of people to refuse to buy tickets for next season because of Idzik. But he won't. Because people "like the food enough" to still go.

Look. Two sides are never going to agree on this topic. I, for one, really don't have a problem if Idzik gets fired. I just think the marketing campaign to do so is a totally dick move. Different people have different standards as to what is moral and what isn't, or don't give a shit either way, and that's fine. That's what makes the world go round. I'm done posting in this thread unless it's about Ralebird talking about Rex eating pubes again.

And yet it's true. First of all, what do the 35 years have to do with Woody? He has been here 15. The 49rs over the last few years (before this one) have done well, but so did we in 2009-2010. Neither team won the whole thing. However, over the entire span of Woody's ownership (since 2000), we have overall been better. They've had 8-9 losing seasons out of 15 (depending on how they finish this year), or more than half, and we've only had 5. That's a pretty significant difference. They also didn't have a single winning season from 2003 to 2011.

You're pissed off because he didn't overspend to bring in mediocre players that wouldn't have solved much anyway. The Giants drafted Odell Beckham Jr on the 12 pick, signed DRC to the 5 year deal and they're still 5-9 and irrelevant in the NFC East. They've already got their QB and their HC who keeps up with the details. You seriously think going to get DRC or drafting Beckham would have changed the trajectory of the Jets season?

The only thing that was going to do that was Geno Smith playing well and he just wasn't up to the job. Dee Milliner getting IR'd was just icing on the crap cake at that point.

If the Giants had drafted Dee Milliner on the 9 last year there is no way they're signing DRC to an expensive contract. But, of course they're 5-9 anyway and had their own 6 game losing streak in the process.

This is a rebuild year. There wasn't anything that was going to change that except having Geno play lights out and he obviously is not up to the task.

There is no customer who can't be shown the door when they get loud and obnoxious in the establishment. There is no customer who can't be barred for cause at the door if he has done something specifically to warrant the act.

These guys have done both. The Jets should refund their season tickets, tell them to sell their PSL's and be done with it.

You don't like the food in the establishment? Then don't go back to the establishment.
