I've given my reasons a million times on here. And I think I made it clear that I'm a dumb Jets fan too. Everyone is an armchair quarterback and thinks they know what's best for the team.

I've already given my sentiment that I have been very underwhelmed with his drafts. I also don't see the top talent that some people see in Jace Amaro. Was never a Pryor fan (you can quote me as asking why the hell we got a hard-hitting safety in a league that is putting an emphasis on defenseless receivers). I was in favor of Geno in the 2nd because, well, why not? We needed a QB, and hindsight is 20/20. Plenty of people supported that pick. Plenty supported Milliner. Most didn't have a clue who Richardson even was. The WR debacle was a big one, but outside of Beckham, I don't see an elite, consistent WR out of this draft. Watkins and Evans have that potential, as well as a few others, but only Beckham has shown that he might already be elite. I'm not convinced that he really screwed up at CB. I mean, he did for this upcoming season, but I'm glad he didn't overpay for some of these overrated guys.

So my reasons, for the million and first time, are that blowing a bunch of money in free agency on some overrated players like DRC is a huge waste and puts you in a much worse position than poor drafts. He has taken us out of the cap hell that Tannenbaum put us in. What he does with that money, we'll see. But if he hits on a few more picks in the draft, people would actually be singing a different tune.

90% of fans would take the Dan Snyder route to building a team and think they can get Peyton Manning, JJ Watt, and Calvin Johnson for discounted prices. That's why most Jets fans (and most fans in general) are stupid. The guy has put together a good financial situation, so I want to see what he can do with it.

The biggest problem I have with Jets fans is most of them have amnesia with their feelings and comments months down the road. They ignore how wrong they were with so many things, and highlight only what they were right on. Kinda like all the BS with Terry Bradway wanting Russell Wilson.

Ah yes the condescending "above the fray" post from Bradwaysux.....

Tell me again about how Idzik was a "real GM" whose system of selecting players was based on "Value" and thus "brilliant".

We have lost because of QB's and CB's. We have a shit roster put together by Idzik. He is deserving of all the blame he gets. I don't know who said or has pretended that everyone is excelling at their jobs because I certainly haven't. Play calling is limited because of the QB play. Execution of plays is directly related to the limited talent we have - players are just flat out getting beat. What more can coaching do? You're not turning a pile of shit into a pile of gold, plus Rex can't even make the decision on which QB to start. Timeout usage is half players and half coaches

I'm probably the only one, but I don't think the CBs have been the problem. I mean, sure, they could absolutely be better. But our pass rush has ALWAYS sucked. There's always someone open because the QB always has all day to throw. You can't cover guys for as long as they're being asked to cover.

I'm not saying it was or it wasn't. The Raiders drafted Sebastian Janikowski in the 1st round because they had terrible FG kicking that cost them games and then went deep into the playoffs the following 3 seasons including a SB appearance. Sometimes the kicker is the missing piece. It's not like there were a ton of studs in that draft anyway, so it's really not a big fucking deal.

Early in the season when we were playing all those elite QB's, our Corners were getting destroyed. They are (right there with Geno) the reason we lost the Lions and Bears games and are the sole reason we lost the Packers game. unfortunately.

This. The Jets have struggled to find a pass rusher since Abraham left town. Along with QB, a true pass rusher has always been one of those big glaring voids on this team going back to the Sack Exchange days.

In the realm of selective memory: Geno threw a 1st down pick in the end zone with 1:52 to go in the first half in the Packers game. Give Aaron Rodgers the ball and 1:52 and you give up a fair number of scores, which is what happened. Jets grind out a FG there and we're 24-9 at half instead of 21-16. That's why we lost the game. A lousy play call on 1st down from the Packers 27 with all the tools to just grind out the clock and go into half time up at least two scores and maybe 3 with a bit of luck.

While Rex has held the secondary together with duct tape and glue, we are seriously lacking there. Milliner and MacDougle deserve another chance, but we seriously need to pick up another cornerback this offseason.

Assuming Rex is replaced, the new coach will figure out what is needed for his system and go get it. If Rex is still here, then yeah the Jets are going to need to go get a CB and a rush LB because all the blitzing is killing them.

That's such a defeatist attitude. Yeah, great play Bway.. Play for the FG. That's pussy ball. We were throwing the ball well that day and the only reason he threw an INT was because he was hit after a missed block as he was throwing the ball.

    ETA-

I thought the play call was absolutely the right call.

This is one reason idzik should go. Does anyone trust him with a crucial draft choice? how could anyone because his track record speaks differently.
As I said a trained monkey could have gotten us out of "Cap Hell" by not signing anyone but then the compounds the issue that he can't find talent in the draft either.
1 example why he should go:
The point is in a yr when he had 12 picks and receivers where falling from the sky where is a receiver for this team from the draft? 12 picks 4 are gone then he traded a pick for Harvin (not that matted because the pick would have been cut the way this guy drafts).
If you go into the draft looking for one impact player he had 12 chances and came up empty he barley found two nfl talents to help the team this yr out of the draft in Amaro and Pryor
We can talk about if and buts, but idzik grossly over estimated this team and ultimately he is the one who puts the roster together so how could anyone who grades the talent on this roster think his job safe.
Either through stupidity or sabotage he fed the fans the players and the coaches for this years train wreck. No qb no receivers no corners and more wholes in the team then last yr and when he took over. There is less talent on both sides of the ball and that is on the gm.
That is why he should be fired. He has no eye for talent and his drafts have hurt the team then couple it with his frugal plan and bingo you get a 3 win team

Did you just imply the Jets have less talent on offense this year than they did last year?

I implied well I will state it now this years team has less talent all the way around then it did last year.
    They upgraded receiver
running back is just about even
    online the same
    qb worse.
    Defense
no corners due to injury and poor planning buy the gm
    linebackers the same but older
Dline the same depending on where you say coples play there would be an improvement from him
The two reasons they improved on the offense was because they traded for Harvin because anyone would admit that Decker has shown he is a number two receiver in this league meanwhile they passed on odell-beckham and cooks that would have really helped this team.
I have no faith in this gm/staff to make the right choice at number 6 now....what makes people think they can is beyond me. Other then richardson and milner (I will put milner here because he is injured and had a great final 4 weeks of the season)what picks have they made that make you go hell yes..... I had faith in pryor but injuries to the corners forced to play way outside the box where he excels.

Me, too. Yeah in hindsight the play didn't work out, but that's because Smith threw an interception. Well, werent the Jets supposed to be finding out what kind of Qb Smith was in his early starts? The irony is Brad was a big Smith supporter who turned on him, but by his own assessment that would have been AFTER the Packers game, somewhere around the fifth or sixth game.

When you're playing the Packers, who have a good D but an awesome O, you don't go for a FG when you have a shot at a TD. Sure the Jets have learned to minimize putting the ball in Smith's hands, but that was the second game of hte season.

Shit...he said it and I'll back him up...the team, as a whole, blows MONKEY ASS comparatively! Insult to injury...within 3 weeks we KNEW Geno was the wrong answer... Everyone, but Idzik, KNEW the Corner situation was going to suck and everyone else is either the same or older. Sooooo...yeah...

Can't really take anyone seriously who thinks we have less talent on offense this year than we did last year. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. That's just a really bad one.

You replace Hill and Nelson with Decker and Harvin and we are somehow less talented? Decker alone has more talent than anyone that played receiver for us last year.
